I don't want something that attaches to my pool or the pool equipment.** A: Pass on this...it might work for kiddie size pools with filter systems only. Above ground pools only. The device attaches to the pool wall (replaces water returning to pool port and just screws in place) and another hose is attached to the device. Some of the filtered returning water is diverted into the hose and the length of hose is warmed by the sun then warm water pours back into your pool from the open end of that hose placed over the pool wall. So the device is not really attached to your pool equipment, only at the last stage of your pool filter system where the water is returning to pool. We have 15x30 pool and normally have a directional frog's eye in the port to help the water's circulation and this device caused disorganized circulation. The device is not able to handle the force of water from your pool pump and darker blue "cap" cracked (cap has dial vents). This device is viable in design, but cheaply made. Best advice: before I returned it, I took the Beluga device to Home Depot and with a bit of assistance, I built my own, better version that is still working after 3 years. I am using 500 ft. of black flexible hose of drip irrigation in a large coil on the ground and the open of hose is placed over pool wall. The water that pours into our pool is quite warm (almost hot at times) and is placed near the return water outlet so the warm water is circulated well. A system like this is also possible by buying a pond pump (around $100.00) and with a few attachments to reduce the hose size, you can plug in a pump that will push a large volume of water through black irrigation hose that will warm 12,000 gallons very nicely. **Q: Are there any adapters to make this work with a 1 1/4" inlet opening for an Intex above ground pool?** A: It doesn't come with any adapters, the only threads are 1 1/2" and a hose size **Q: I have a hayward male eyeball return is there anything I can use to adapt so it will work?** A: I have never been able to get my beluga pool solution heating device to work. **Q: I have a summer waves 14 ft above ground pool with a side skimmer/all in one pump attached to the side of the pool. How would this work?** A: mine was a coleman 18 foot with 2 side wall outlets to the pump and 1 return to the pool with 100 feet commercial grade black hot water hose attached for the heater coil ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works as advertised *by R***E on July 26, 2020* Not a fast or super cheap solution to heating water in a small pool, but it works just as advertised by creating a pretty slow stream of warmer water. In other words, it takes some time to see real results in my 12 foot circular above ground. Still, I am happy with it and would buy it again. Simple to install and take off even with a 1000 gph pool pump going. I am using it with about 50 feet of hose currently with their Intex adapter (which fits nicely). Follow their directions and you won't have a problem. The outlet end of the hose should be submerged. ### ⭐ Terrible Product *by R***E on July 12, 2016* Terrible product. Idea seems to be good and practical by the quality of the product is so bad that makes it impossible for this to work. I purchased on Amazon through a third party merchant. My kids broke it, no fault of the product. It was definitely helping heat our 24 round above ground pool. However when I ordered a replacement, this time directly from Amazon, the threads on the pool side hookup are not 1 1/2. For some reason the threads are just a bit smaller. Can't get a part to fit it. I will be returning. Such a shame. I am trying to get from the third party again to see if they still have the ones with the right threads. Shame on Amazon. However, if you get one with the right threads, it is great! We have a 1 1/2 horsepower pump that generates a lot of water, but the Beluga unit had no problems. We were able to dial in the right flow through a black hose and really increased the pool temperature. We used the solar cover at night to keep the heat in.
