I'll be honest: I first thought this might be a dishonest product when I first purchased it because of the amount of reviews posted here from users who received it for promotional purposes. After using it for a complete summer, fall, and winter I can now say I am very surprised and happy with these!I work outside in tennis shoes for several hours a day in the sun as a marching band instructor (several hundred hours during the summer and fall with little mercy on your feet). I used the bags in the same shoes every night and after 9 months of having the shoes they have absolutely no smell, even when I really get up close and personal with my nose. This is really something, considering I have used the exact brand and style of shoe for the last several years that I repurchase because of the wear (and smell) on them. I purchased another set of bags for a nice pair of leather shoes that I wear daily, and the result is the same.The BEST result I have noticed, however, is from a pair of slip-on canvas shoes that had an awful smell after wearing them in the summer. I eventually put baking soda in them and placed them in Ziploc bags for several weeks after the summer. That didn't work. It dawned on me to really put these bags to the test, so I placed the bags into these tough shoes that I was considering getting rid of. After a couple weeks the smell was gone, much to my surprise, considering even baking soda didn't work.Give them a shot!

I am on my feet all day as a nurse and my feet sweat. Between that and running, I was in need of a shoe deodorizer. These have been great! I rotate them between the pairs of shoes I wear frequently. I have considered buying additional sets so I could have one in each pair of shoes ( I would go with this product again) but they have actually have done a good job keeping the odor level down in all of them with just the rotation I have going. If one pair threatens to get super stinky (e.g. if I get caught in the rain on a run) they get the deodorizer overnight. I have not recharged them yet (directions say to do so every so often by sitting them out in the sun - I need to look up the specifics again), but might try doing that now that we're starting to have warm, sunny weather. I haven't noticed a decrease in effectiveness or increase in smelliness, but it sounds like a good maintenance thing to do. I am very happy that these do not have a smell of their own, as I am sensitive to most smells and hate when something tries to mask bad smells instead of eliminating them. They are sturdily constructed (I tried to pull it apart at the seam in one of the pictures), with a rough textured material, a neutral pleasing color, and they fit well in my size 10s.

When I saw someone using these at work I decided to ask what they were and she told me they help reduce the smell of shoes. She swore by them. So I decided to buy a pair for my work shoes- I take my shoes off at work when I leave and put these in the shoes until I arrive the next morning. And HOLY COW THEY WORK. I have since bought 2 more pairs to use for my shoes after working out and for my everyday shoes. I honestly can’t believe how well they work. All the money I could have saved on shoes that were throw out because of the smell! Buy these!!! Ps I use these on my work flats that I do not wear socks with (so we all know how smelly that can get) and still no smells coming from my shoes!!!! I used to be so embarrassed because you could smell my shoes the second you came to my desk, but not anymore!! BUY BUY BUY.

I really thought this was a gimmick item at first, and one that got good reviews via discounts or something. I honestly didn't expect much when I paid the 10 bucks for it, but it's turned out to be a shoe [and life] saver! It's been the only product to cure that horrible stench that gets into canvas shoes (particularly my Vans, Converses, and some of the canvas Crocs). I've tried EVERYTHING under the sun (seriously, everything: think baking soda, odor sprays, etc) and charcoal has been the only thing that's worked. I use a combo of a charcoal shoe liner (Dr. Scholl's Odor-X one) and this product, and it's revived my shoes.I do take it out every few weeks and stick it on my windowsill to reactivate the charcoal again.5/5 stars. A must have for anyone... er... anyone who wears shoes I guess!

I have 3 high school students playing sports. Their shoes smell horrible-especially when they practice in the morning and their shoes are wet because the fields are wet. It is so bad I make them leave their shoes outside. These Natural Shoe Deoderizers are AMAZING! Not only do their ages not smell, they leave them in their sports bag during practice and their bags don't smell either anymore! The deodarizers don't have a smell to them so it is. It like it is masking one smell with another. Instead they absorb the small and it is just gone. I recommend these to any athlete.

I hate to wash my running shoes because they seem to wear out faster. I also do not like wearing socks.This combination makes for some stinky shoes.I leave my workout bag at my desk at work (I run before work in the morning) and it started to be embarrassing.Searched for shoe deodorizers and found these. I drop them in my shoes as soon as I take them off after my runs and they no longer stink up my workspace.Problem solved!

Despite mixed reviews, I chose these over the "sneaker balls" and sprays because they're made of natural materials, and because they claim to remove the smell rather than mask it with another scent. I don't normally have a big shoe odor problem, but I have a couple pairs that do get mildly smelly, so I tried this on them. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they eliminated the odor in one night. Now I just pop them into one of those pairs of shoes when I'm done wearing them, and the next time I want to wear them, they're ready to go. Definitely worth the cost in my case! I'm ordering a second set for my daughter, who has some more intensely smelly shoes, and we'll see how they work on those.
