Quality cable
For a desktop use I think the braided cables are kind of silly. You run the cable once and then it just sits there. You don't need the abrasion resistance and longevity of a braided cable, so why waste the money. I picked these cables up for 2 reasons: 1) they have the latch--as an aside I will mention that I dislike displayport cables that don't have the latches to lock it in place--and 2) they were fairly cheap. The come a little bit over-packaged in my opinion. The cables are flat rolled, clipped with little plastic clips, vacuum bagged, and then ziplock bagged. The quality is good, and I would recommend this brand to anyone looking to pick up cables.

best cable maker on Amazon
I'm got a new computer and it has displayport and so does my monitor. When I saw Cable Matters had a cable I went with them. They make quality stuff that does not break down over time.

high quality for good price
I got these cables cause I was having issues with a new KVM switch and my LG monitor flickering. I used the cables that came with the KVM but it happened every time. I heard that sometimes the cables can make a difference. I got these and so far the problem has subsided. Hopefully it continues that way and it actually was just the cable connection.

It just works.
I guess there isn't a lot you can really say about cables. For the most part they do all that they claim they do or they don't. My monitor is reporting the proper DisplayPort 1.4 support it should see, 144Hz 1080p and FreeSync work (even HDR works, but my monitor has useless HDR,) 10-bit and 12-bit modes seem to work, and so on. In short, the cable seems to do what it says it does, and that's pretty much all anyone could ask from a cable. I can't test 8K or 4K, but with the monitor reporting these things correctly coming through I would assume that those should as well (pretty much DP1.4 standard.)Now I'll just have to see if it keeps working, but so far no problems.

Cable Matters proves, once again, that quality cables are important
i recently upgraded to an ultrawide (3440x1440) monitor, and almost immediately after firing up some games (firewatch, deep rock galactic) i started seeing these sporadic, brief flashes of white, staticky horizontal lines across the monitor. maybe once every... 15-60 seconds. it seemed like it was happening when there was a significant frametime spike, as if the monitor was having a hard time keeping up with gsync. i've got a ryzen 7 3700x and an rtx 3080ti, so it seemed unlikely to be a performance/capability issue.at first i worried that the monitor that i'd bought (secondhand) was damaged or faulty and that i had been duped by the seller. then i checked my displayport cable -- it was just some unbranded cable that i'd pulled from my cables/parts bin. i bought this Cable Matters cable, swapped it in, and my issue is fully resolved.we often think "all digital cables are the same; they're just carrying signals to be read as ones and zeroes". it's sort of true, and sort of not. the long and the short of it is this: when troubleshooting strange issues, don't be so quick to dismiss that your cable might be at fault. and when you do get around to replacing it, buy one from a quality, trusted brand who adheres to standards and certifications.

Reliable
I bought this cable to replace two identical 4K DVI cables that were longer and thicker gauge than this one, and a little bit more expensive. Both were not keeping a consistent picture. The slightest movement of the cable caused flickering or no signal with either one. When I received this new one, I was skeptical, but it worked day 1 and continues working. I forgot about the problem entirely until writing this review. Nice job, Cable Matters.
