One of the most updated Islamic philosophic book! Every human being must read!

Good reading and good addition to library that is broad and diverse. Knowledge is everyones power. Reading is the greatest thing you can do.

I didn’t touch the book for a long time. During that time it remained pretty. It makes for great decoration on a bookshelf. But then I decided to read it (it’s a book after all). I’m fifty pages in folks and look what the binding looks like! … the binding is not designed for a book meant to be read.

Just make sense for someone trying to understand basics of Islamic religion, the book answers most common questions about the Islam

It is well written and amazingly explains some of the parts much better than turkish version. I love it and recommend to everyone.

Classic work in translation from the original . Perhaps worthwhile to some, but ridiculously conservative in viewpoint, in my opinion. Followers of Nursi, especially fervent Turkish, often place this work in the position of The Definitive Elaboration on how one should live the exemplary Muslim life, yet, in truth, it is just the views of one well known man in one culture. The contents of this book are often used as short cuts to discussing pious behavior. If you belong to the population most likely to be excited by this, you most likely have already read it in the original Turkish. If you are not Turkush, yet are considering the possibility of subscribing to this way of thinking, it is much simpler and less expensive to simply view any of the expansive selection available on YouTube.

Very good translation of the Original. Said Nursi shows with logical and rational arguments why the believe to god is necessary.

I give this review such a title because this really is a difficult one to describe. Said Nursi was a truly remarkable man and what is most interesting was he was an ever evolving man who while remaining within the traditions of Islam was open to developments around him and the changing face of the world he lived in. In this respect his collection of writings the "Risala" Are one of the most remarkable set of books written in the 20th Century.This book the words, is one from the collection. One thing I have immediately noticed is its not a book that can be read in a conventional sense (i.e. from front to back) But rather one to be referred to or even read by chapter. The number of subjects covered is huge. Religion, prophets, the saints, prayer, science. Said Nursi clearly sees education in particular in the field of science as one of great importance and sees lack of education and religious practice as the two main shortcomings in the Muslim world. This is no small book, it contains 718 pages. Its a large hardback book beautifully presented to last years.This is an excellent book and I look forward to reading other sections of the Risala.

This book arrived quickly and in excellent condition. The hard "imitation leather" cover is also really nice, with a wonderful design carved into the spine, and the pages are of good quality: I am very pleased with this purchase.
