These are the best brightest bass strings ever!
I can't say enough about these strings. I've been using them exclusively for the past several years on my Ibanez SR500, running through an Ampeg B2R head and Ampeg cabinet, We play about 2 gigs per month and these strings have never let me down. I used to use GHS, I tried the Dean Markley's and these strings simply blow them away. They feel great, last for a long time and the sound is amazing and I commonly get compliments on my bass sound after a show. Cleartone strings have an incredibly bright, clear and punchy sound. When I restring the entire band notices the difference. They have a super light coating that makes them sound amazing and helps them last for a very long time."Medium Gauge Cleartone Coated Bass Strings are made of nickel-plated steel over a hex core. A unique treatment called EMP coats the entire string with an ultrathin protective film. It's the thinnest coating ever applied to bass strings (less than one micron!) and will withstand more abuse from hard strumming than coatings 1000 times thicker! EMP ensures longer string life by protecting strings from corrosion due to skin acidity, salt, and moisture without compromising feel and sound. Made in the USA."The Amazon price is pretty comparable to GC.If you try these strings you won't be disappointed.

What a difference maker!!!!
I put these on my Bass because I had had a very good experience with Cleartone on other instruments and also because the strings I had been using for Bass went dead and listless pretty quickly. I am happy beyond words. They are bright, have great tone and feel and they hold their tuning better than anything else I have used. These Cleartone Bass Strings helped me go from a good Bass sound to a GREAT Bass sound. I'm done switching around. These bad boys are genuine difference makers WOW

No clue what the coating actually does. Save your money, buy something else.
I buy a lot of strings. A lot. I go through a set pretty much every show I play. I generally play d'addario exl160s (roughly $12 a set for the twin pack on amazon- exl160tp), but at the behest of my guitar players I purchased my first set of coated strings in hopes they'd last 3-4 shows and make up for the cost difference or convenience.Out of the box they sound just fine. I sweat on them for half an hour, then thoroughly wiped the strings off with a cloth. These did absolutely no better than the exl160s. I pulled my bass out a day or two later and was dismayed to find out all the strings were as dead or deader than the non coated exl160s. For strings that I'm paying nigh $40 for it's an absolute ripoff to use them for a show and move on.

Decent Strings for My Ibanez SR370E
***UPDATE 8/1/22I continue to rate these highly and recommend them. However, I was a little concerned that my last set arrived with all the strings packed together in a single paper envelope. I don't think they had been used, but they certainly did not look like they were packed at the factory, which raised some concerns. Perhaps more of an Amazon issue than Cleartone issue.***OPStrings are a personal preference. I find that these work well on my Ibanez SR300DX. Lots of bright pop. I play about 4 hours a week, and I get 6-12 months out of a set, before I start to notice enough dullness that I'm motivated to spring for a new set for a gig. YMMV.

Best strings ever!
These are by far my favorite bass strings I've ever used. They last long, feel great and help with my overall tone.
