Happy Hound Dog Training Collar with Remote Platinum Series, Rechargeable, Waterproof, 330-Yard Range

This is my second Sport dog SD425 unit. So far everything is working. I charged the batteries for two hours as recommended, pressed the collar ON button (which will flash to show the collar is enabled) and placed the collar on my German Shepherd. The unit I purchased does not have the vibration mode. This would have been useful. The 425 S has that feature. Anyway, setup is simple. The included DVD is very useful. I disagree with the DVD in one area - how old should a dog be before using the electric Stimulate. I wouldn't use this on a puppy. I would wait until 9 months or greater. Also I suggest leaving the collar on a few hours a day for a week before using. This is so the dog doesn't associate the stimulation with the collar. I want my dog to respond with or without the collar. I don't want him to understand there is a relation between the collar and the stimulation. There is included a butterfly shaped object that allows one to test the collar without using your body to make sure the collar is working. Place the prongs onto the butterfly's contacts and click the remote. The butterfly LED lights up to shows that the collar is responding. GOOD IDEA.

I love this training collar. I had a different training collar for 5 years. It finally stopped working. I was going to buy it again until I saw the price. Then the search was on. I found happy Hound Dog Training Collar. I really did like my other collar however, HH has one more feature that is working very well. The sound button. It seems to work with my dog just as well as the shock. And, I don't have to shock. My dog has been swimming with it on and it stayed dry. It works well at long distance. My dog doesn't get too far away so long distance for us is about 30 to 50 yards.I did have to send the receiver back because of an issue that may have been my fault. But, HH didn't worry about fault. They just sent out a new receiver. I paired it up with the transmitter and no issues.So far, this a good product, great customer service and overall I would buy from them again.I did not get anything to write this review.

I tried several other bark collars prior to buying this one. I was disappointed in all of them. The first one stopped working after 1 week. The second one only gave a tone but no vibration and was useless for my dog. The 3rd one seemed to work initially but after the receiver shut off after inactivity, it would not go back on again without having to shake it. None of these provided consist training for my dog.This collar works beautifully and is definitely worth the investment. The remote works at distances. The multiple levels of shock in addition to the tone and vibration features are wonderful!! It has made such a difference in only a few days. My dog is so much easier to work with. I would buy this again without hesitation!!

I absolutely love this!!!! We’ve been using it on a daily basis for about 6 months. We charge it overnight and it will last 12 hours or so. The beep, vibrate and static shock all work flawlessly. The intensity dial 0-100 for vibrate and shock is so much more reliable than digital. This collar has assisted and accelerated the training process well beyond where we would have been without it. I understand that most people don’t want to shock their dog. You don’t have to. The beep and vibrate work so well that I’ve only used the shock (on about 20) 2-3 times in 6 months. He was running towards the street and he didn’t respond to verbal commands so I felt I had no choice. He stopped in his tracks and ran straight towards me and sat down at my feet. What else can I say? It WORKS VERY WELL!

So far, so good. Really good quality. Comes with a very detailed instruction packet.I have spent 2 1/2 years trying to train my pitbull/boxer/pointer mix rescue. He would constantly bark at the neighbor dogs and was relentless. After just a few hours of having this collar on, he seemed to stop barking when only the warning tone was given. I have tried several collars, and even the static collar that was supposed to be more mild and more humane, seemed to hurt/startle him more than this collar. So far I use it on the lowest setting and it works perfect. I am saving the higher settings for if he gets too brave with the lowest.ALSO- I looked at this collar at petsmart or petco (do not remember which, they are all the same to me) and it was over $200

Shock collar works really well. Have been using this for months now and no problems with the battery or functionality of the remote or collar. The collar was way too long for our puppy, so i just cut it shorter and melted the end. Replacement collars are readily available. Have not had a chance to really test the distance, but it has worked within 50 yards quite effectively. I have not gone past setting number 6 for our puppy and every setting was tested on myself prior to using it on the puppy. The highest setting has quite of a bit of kick if your dog has a thick coat. After the first 6 weeks of using it our puppy behaves well without it. Just seeing it or wearing the collar she responds. Haven't had to use the shock or vibration at all since then.

This collar has been a god send for my 1-year-old, incredibly smart (read: stubborn) German Shepherd. I use the beep, vibrate, and shock as a progression - and I've only had to use that shock feature once when he nearly ran in front of a car. He's incredibly responsive to just the vibrate, which I prefer to use, but is now 99% responsive to just my voice command which was not the case before I started with this collar. It has practically become a placebo at this point.I gave the collar 4 stars instead of 5 because after said German Shepherd threw a little puppy tantrum and chewed up his first collar, which I had for several months, I ordered a new one which did not work. It charged just fine, but then started beeping randomly so I turned it off, but then couldn't get it to turn back on again no matter what I did. I'm reordering a new one (with the protection plan this time, just in case) so I'm hoping that second dud collar was just a fluke.
