The Runaways... as "real" superheroes?
Except for a brief flirtation with code names during the original run of the series (now only preserved in the big Guides to the Marvel Universe tomes, which hilariously still refer to them at "Talkback", "Arsenic" et. al as if those were going concerns), most of the Runaways haven't done much in the way of traditional costumed heroics. That changes in this volume as they're taken under the wing of a prominent LA-area superhero who promises to mold them into a real crime-fighting team. The resulting arc is fun, but also becomes a pointed satire on the business practices of superhero comics - from what kinds of body are allowed to be seen in spandex to the cheap shocks used to boost reader interest when sales decline. It's the kind of story that makes Runaways one of the best Marvel comics out there.

they're in a actual superhero team that's not it all known in the marvel universe
Doc awesome is evil sacrificing his team to get his team recignition. Gert becomes left out since she doesn't really have powers and fids out his plans.

Love this series when it is helmed by Rainbow Rowell
Great comic book series by one of my favorite author, I much preferred the illustration by Kristafer Anka who worked on the earlier editions.

Fun!
Such a great installment of the series! Thrill to see them lean into costumed heroics and how it plays into their new dynamics and dregs up old feelings.

I Have Been Turned Into a Comic Book Reader
Listen. This is good. This is real good. Rainbow Rowell is a character driven author and is capable of making me, a person who doesn’t like comic books, to be obsessed with Runaways. Please buy this book.

An amazing deconstruction of the super hero team trope that feels fresh and relevant
What a great follow up for the current run of the Runaways. Rainbow Rowell delivers yet another master piece of writing, creating up an eerie and dark setting with new villains and allies and at the same time adding up a new dimension for the Runaways.Andre Genolét consolidates himself as one of the best artists that Runaways ever had. His art is polished, dynamic and one can feel he's so comfortable drawing these characters.Dee Cuniffee's colors are amazing, vibrant and full of life and somehow he manages to keep the dark tone of the script in his work, Cuniffee is now one of the best colorists out there.Definately this is a volume that you can't miss, Runaways is one of the best comics Marvel has right now, in my opinion, is the best comic in their whole line!
