Good start to the Declassified series
4.5/5.This is a good novel, obviously not as great as any of the proper seasons of the show themselves. Likewise, however, this novel covers the span of a day, however it's not as much real-time like in the show. Sometimes you skip around 40 minutes without anything happening. The characters that we love are all here, and the new additions don't subtract from the feeling. The plot moves swiftly and never really gets bogged down at any point.I wouldn't call this book essential. I didn't learn anything that enhances my understanding of the characters as is. It's just a good book if you're already a fan.

Decent story, but the author used an unnecessary amount of extremely graphic and gory violent descriptions throughout the book that really added no purpose other than to fulfill some perverse pleasure he derives from attempting to "gross" his readers out. Personally I found it in bad taste and did not find it added anything to the story.Viewers of the 24 series know that graphic violence is sometimes depicted, however it is done so within the context of the story. The author seems to like using it gratuitously - even if it may dilute the context of the story.Being a die-hard 24 fan, I will read the entire series regardless of this unfortunate tendency on the part of the author, however I would suggest that children and adults who may be uncomfortable with such material strongly consider this before reading this book. The book would have earned another star in the rating from me without what I consider to be a rather poor and lazy form of writing by the author.

Excellent Series
This is the second book of the series I've read. If you ever watched the T.V. Series and liked it the this series is a must. I am not an avid reader by any means but I don't want to put these books down. The first one I read in about 2 days, this one took 4 only because of time constraints. I am planning on getting everyone of these. These are well written, keep you on the edge of your seat and jump from location to location so you need to follow along so you don't get lost. The characters are very well developed and from the descriptions you can picture each one as you read through. The action and locations are we defined and thought out. In fact I just finished this book last week and my son and I were in Long Island, NY this weekend. I wanted so much to try to find the location at the end of the book to see if it were real.

24: NEW YORK Edition: Pre-Season 1
Really Good storyline and character development and many twists and turns and knockout adrenaline scenes in the book, especially in the ending. Highly recommend to others.

24 Operation Hell Gate
This was a great novel about Jack Bauer's early years in the field, I was pleasantly surprised! Yes it was gory at some points but the so was the show!

Good book but not quite on par with the series
Good book but not quite on par with the series. Found myself reading the prologue with jacks voice in my head. Makes for a good book however the timings seem a little strange. A lot of action can take place in 6-7 mins which can be followed by not much happening for the next 45-50 mins. Alot of screen adaptation would be needed to make into the telly show! But, as stated, still a good read with a good story line.

Not bad, but only really get it if you're quite the 24 fan.
