I don' t know why this product was discontinued? It provides some temporary relief for my migraines before the medications kick in.

Old product
Both tubes of head on were left crystals on my forehead when I had finished applying them. I've used this product many times before and never had to take a tissue and wipe the leftover crystals off my fore head.

Won't leave home without it
I have suffered with migraines since I was 6 (and I am now 50+). I have been through every test and medicine known to medical science. I do use imitrex and fiornal (sometimes in combination) to manage my debilitating headaches.I started using this when it first came out, and it has changed my life. I used to have to do the lay down in a dark room with a cool cloth over my eyes routine as soon as I felt a headache coming on. Fortunately I work in very flexible setting where I can do that if absolutely necessary. However once I started using head-on at onset along with my prescription meds, I could just keep on working. It prevented the headache from getting worse, and sometimes I could skip the expensive high powered drugs altogether. So to those who suffer migraines, I'd say definitely give it a try. Because people's triggers are different, it may not work for everyone. I've tried all kinds of herbal and homeopathic remedies, and this is the only that has helped consistently.I am very sad that this product is becoming very difficult to find. Walmart used to carry it for about $5--and worth every penny. I hope if more people find it helpful, they'll offer it again. One strange side effect--it does sometimes cause a skin reaction, and so I would sometimes end up with flaking on my forehead where I applied it, or red blotches. And for relief, I really don't care.)And if you take it in your car, it will melt or freeze when exposed to extreme temps. My recommendation is to keep the plastic insert it comes with for shipping all the time--haven't any problems since.Wishing you headache free health!

Best over-the-counter head ache product
I have been suffering from headaches for years and love "Head On extra strength". I am sooo upset that it has been discontinued. I have found a few on e-bay but at a very high price. It is still worth it for me. The only other alternative for my type of headache are botox injections. They are very costly and have to be done every three months. I will keep looking for more "Head On", but I know they are hard to come by.

It really works!
I was very skeptical of this Miracle Headache Relief for a very long time. The commercials were annoying and how could anyone believe that applying this chap stick like paste to your forehead would do any good. But let me tell you, I have been suffering from Migraines and Tension headaches for years. Finally being diagnosed with Chronic Sinusitis and tension. I had been taking over 800MG of Ibuprofen for so long that it was starting to lose it's effectiveness. one day my Aunt said to try this. She had some in her purse. Two years later I don't leave home without in my purse and tell everyone who asks how wonderful it is. Thanks to HeadOn I no longer rely on over the counter meds to help my headaches on a daily basis. This really works and if you would just give it a try to you may be pleasantly surprised.

This amount of dilution is so great that the product has been described as a placebo
Taken from Wikipedia entry on HeadOn:The original homeopathic formula was purportedly developed at the Herpolscheimer clinic in Graz, Austria. It was originally distributed by Miralus Healthcare. As of September 2008, there are two versions of HeadOn available in stores: "Extra Strength" and "Migraine". Chemical analysis of the Migraine formulation has shown that the product consists almost entirely of wax. The three "active ingredients" are iris versicolor 12× (a toxic flower), white bryony 12× (a type of toxic vine), and potassium dichromate 6× (a known carcinogen). The "×" notation indicates that the three chemicals have been diluted to 1 part per trillion, 1 part per trillion, and 1 part per million respectively. This amount of dilution is so great that the product has been described as a placebo; with skeptic James Randi calling it a "major medical swindle". The formula for the Extra Strength version of the product is the same as the Migraine except that it excludes the iris versicolor.Seymour Diamond, director of the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago and the inpatient headache unit at St. Joseph Hospital, was quoted as saying "I see nothing in this product that has any validity whatsoever." Consumer Reports states that no clinical-trial data involving HeadOn have been presented, and that "any apparent efficacy may be the result of the placebo effect."Correspondence was published with a statement from HeadOn Customer Service that "It works through the nerves."

Ridiculous garbage for gullible consumers
This "medicine" is absolute garbage. It is based on homeopathy, which states that precise dilutions release the powers of the ingredients. This is utter nonsense. This medication does not, and will not work. Period. This is one of the most ridiculous ploys I have ever seen to fool people. Here is an example of what I mean. You are supposed to rub this on your forehead if you have a headache. Why would you do this? Medication has to be systemically absorbed to work. This is implying a transdermal delivery method. It has to get to your systemic circulation. Why apply it to your forehead? Is it supposed to soak through your skin and then your skull, to achieve results? The makers of this product are counting on people who don't have an elementary understanding of physiology to buy their product. The delivery method makes no sense, the product makes no sense, and if you suffer from migraines, you should talk to your Dr. or pharmacist about different treatment options that are available to you. This is a serious medical condition, and you need proper treatment and care.If you want an educated opinion, this medicine is absolute CRAP.
