The "Imperial" Vintage Style Stainless Steel Double Edge Safety Razor + 5 Stainless Steel Razor Blades From the Handlebar Shaving Company

I originally went to using an electric razor due to the exorbitant cost of the refills for the standard razors in the store. Another issue I have with the national razor brands is that the contest to see how many blades you can fit in a cartridge makes the standard razor brands so uncomfortable that it feels like you are running a belt sander over your face. The electric was much cheaper even with the original $200+ cost and I finally stopped having ingrown hairs. Unfortunately the electric is not that precise and the shave was not as close as I liked.I saw the double edged razors here on Amazon and decided to give it a try. This double edge shaver gives the most comfortable shave I have ever had. My face no longer feels like I hit it with a belt sander after I shave, I have no issues with ingrown hairs, and I have not had any issues cutting myself. Even though they are more expensive than the double edge blades made in Israel and Russia, I prefer to use Feather blades that are made in Japan inside this razor and the price is still a tiny fraction of the cost of the multi blade cartridges refills for the standard razor brands. I will never go back to the cartridge razors.

A wonderful razor !! I affectionately call it "little joe" this is my go to razor, and I own a couple of nice Parkers, which are great razors on their own right. But, I love this little razor for it's menevorablity, grip and compact travel size ! With the right blade , I think you'll find it one of your most versatile & favorites in your arsenal. The "Safety Razors " went so well, I'm ready to man-up to a straight edge. BUT dumping those disposable Razor's was the best grooming decision I ever made. My only regret is being raised/ coned in the biggest rip-off in the shaving industry ; the multiple blade, throw your money away industry on those disposable razors, FU ; bic, Gillette and all other generic thieves.HARSH REVIEW BUT TOTALLY TRUE !!!

Razor handle is rather small for my hands but I'm a bigger guy. Shave is not as close as multi bladed razor but I'm not throwing away a bunch of plastic every time. The thing I REALLY like about this razor is that it will handle a couple days growth without trying to tear out the whisker like the multi blades do. It's really uncomfortable to shave a couple day beard with the common brand razors, not so with this. I really like the fact that I'm just disposing of a little bit of steel instead of a bunch of plastic(or grossly overpaying for the branded blade refills). Appears to be impossible to cut yourself with this and the small edge is great for shaving close under your nose. Weight takes a little to get used to when you're used to shaving with plastic razor. You wouldn't want to drop this thing in a ceramic or steel coated sink.

I love this handle. The weight is excellent the grooves fit me perfectly and it looks super cool. I did not care for the Merkur head that came with it, although that was just a matter of preference. I ended up putting a Big Foot Saves head on it and it worked great. Now this is the only handle I use I highly recommend it.

Switched to a safety razor for my zero waste goals. It is a close shave. Smaller than you think, but that works for me. Easy to use and replace razor. Also, buying replacement razors is so much cheaper that regular and glorified disposables. It is heavier than your average razor but I've only nicked myself once and I didn't even feel it. Girls, give it a shot.

This razor is identical to magard mr5 with V3 head. It is very efficient while not being overly aggresive. I bought this razor after graduating from the merkur 34c which is a tame beginner razor in my opinion. I was not disappointed at anytime.

Pros:* Aggressive edge. Yes, that means you can cut yourself easier, but it also means that you can use the same blade longer. For me, that meant the difference between being able to shave my head twice with a blade versus my current razor, where I can only get one unless I use a ton of pressure.* Grip. The texture and shape of the razor makes it great for wet hands and showers.* Weight / Heft. The razor has a solid amount of weight. It feels solid, and that gives it a bit more control.Cons:* Cheap manufacturing. It's clear this razor was poured in a forge in some third world country. There are rouge edges from the cast alll over.* Cheap material. Despite feeling solid, the metal is pretty low quality. It snapped at the neck when I dropped it accidently in the shower.Overall:If you don't care about looks, and you're shaving in the shower, then this is a great razor. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. Just don't drop it.

The weight & balance are outstanding. The best shave I have had for years. My Fusion blades cost almost as much as this razor. You will never regret this purchase
