I embarrassingly have never changed the filter until now, and didn’t even realize the purple part screws off to be replaced as it’s one of the filters. Anyway, the vacuum performs much better now that I have the new filters in (shocker, I know!) and so far they are doing a great job. These were on sale which is an added bonus. They were very easy to install and I will do an update over time to report on durability, but I don’t anticipate any issues.

**Q: Will this fit Dyson V8 Animal ?**
A: YES

**Q: I removed the (dv7abs) pre-filter on the back of the motor only to realize that the filter do not fit. is there an adaptor?**
A: Sorry, but to my knowledge there is no adapter available.  For this Dyson you need the oblong shaped filter for the back of the machine.  I have a Dyson V8 and the oblong filter fit fine.

**Q: Will this fit Dyson v7 allergy?**
A: If it uses these type of filters I would think so. I have a V7 Animal and they fit.

**Q: What do you wash this with?**
A: This are filters for a Dyson vacuum cleaner

Our Dyson V8 was smelling pretty heacy with the pet hair and dirt. I used these replacement filters after I cleaned inside the Dyson and let it dry with the cap open for 24 hours. It restored the suction and no more smell. They are priced much cheaper than the original filters but they are as good as the OEM. Installation is very easy.
