Kindred Spirits: Blake & Boehme
People that are familiar with the works of Jacob Boehme and William Blake usually notice similarities between the two. This book lays out a number of correspondences between them and while doing that, actually clarifies the ideas of both. The author should be commended for a work that is really an essential addition to the library of anyone who is a Blake or Boehme enthusiast.I would recommend this book for students and other interested people who are reading Blake or Boehme for the first time. The imagery and language of both writers is often complex and not always easy to follow. Books like this can aid in comprehending the ideas that are expounded by these writers. Finding authors who have a good understanding of the writings of each is not easy but I have no doubt that Kevin Fischer does understand what they were writing and lays it out in such a way that the beauty and imagination present in them can be better understood and appreciated.
