A: you need a 5volt transformer from amazon

A: standard cd only

**Q: where is the display to show the batteries are low**
A: I don't think there as one. My wife uses it a lot. It will just stop. My advice is to always have spare batteries nearby. I always use rechargable ones. The Duracel ones with the two 'buttons' on the side will also tell you how much power left. Good luck

**Q: Can I use a portable speaker Instead of earphones**
A: Yes, you can use an AUX cord (not included) and hook up your speaker using the 3.5mm headphone socket.
