The Mad Doctor Stutter is not a square wave tremolo. It is an automatic kill switch machine that cuts the signal at controllable intervals . The -RATE knob controls the speed rate of the ON/OFF switching adjustable from really really slow to super super fast, while the -RATIO control slews the amount of ON vs. OFF. With the -RATIO knob maxed there is less on and more off and gets rad and blippy. Back the -RATIO knob off and it results in more ON signal and less OFF. I have had lots of dudes tell me this is the pedal they have been searching for for years. Oh and what's super awesome is that it has an expression pedal input so you can change the speed rate on the fly making for some very interesting and unique sounds! 4.7″ x 3.7″ x 1.18″ enclosure, true bypass switching, common 9v center negative BOSS style power input and battery snap. Power supply not included. Want to try this pedal before you buy it?! Pedalgenie.com

front of pedal board and distortion last sounds perfect
great for rockabilly, surf rock and/or psychobilly clean, or like a dying battery with distortion on.

Honest review, Things to consider!
i was super excited to get this pedal, once receiving it tho I quickly realized.. well you’ll see.Pros:-Build quality is good! It feels solid and yes it looks cool and unique.-If you are running a strictly clean amp and only want a hint of effect with your chords this is for you.Cons:-The signal is very weak that you only get a minimal amount of effect when playing chords.-the signal is so weak that once you apply just a little gain the effect is indistinguishable and is instantly lost in the mix.-I tried reaching out to Matt about this.I mentioned that I tried the pedal in the front of my chain, in front of the amp and independently in the fx loop and after 2 months have still not even received a response. Unfortunately I can only assume the lack of response is a equal representation of the quality of pedals being made.I would like to have thought that the pedal was maybe just defective but again no reply so what else am I supposed to think other then I just wasted my money. End of the day, Looks cool, sounds... I dunno cause I can’t hear it. Sorry.
