## Description

Excessive amounts of nitrate or nitrite in water can cause infant death, adult illness, and can produce spontaneous abortion in cows. Some wells contain high levels of nitrate. When water contains high nitrate levels, nitrites are often present in low concentration. Contains 25 tests.

Review: Water quality indicating. - For an inexpensive water testing method, these test strips do an excellent job. I am required to test the water once a week by the State and I have used this brand of strips satisfactorily for over 15 years. The readings I get from these strips is in alignment with the expensive lab tests the State does periodically with our water supply. CAUTION: Follow the instructions and NEVER touch the 2 testing pads with your fingers. Take a strip out of the container and close that container at that time.

**Q: What is the range of nitrite and nitrate these strips test?**
A: Hello,
Nitrite has a range of 0-3 mg/L (increments of 0, 0.15, 0.3, 1.0, 1.5, and 3.0) and the Nitrate has a range of 0-50 mg/L (increments of 0, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, and 50 mg/L).

**Q: How many test strips are in each container purchased, i.e. how many tests can you do?**
A: There were 25 strips in the bottle.  I was able to do 25 tests (one per strip).

**Q: What is the shelf life?**
A: The expiration date is usually printed on the container. Usually approximately  one year from purchase.

**Q: How do you read the Nitrate results for freshwater aquarium? Is 1, 1 ppm and 10, 10 ppm up to 50 ppm?**
A: Yes PPM as stated on label by color pads
