I've never used or operated a humidifier before I bought this one, and I've been very happy overall with its performance. I would buy it again.PROS: It puts out a steady stream of cooling mist that has helped keep my nose, mouth, and throat from drying out so much. It has a timer function that works well. It's pretty easy to fill. It looks good. I'd even say it's kinda fun to use. I really like that there are two volume settings. Sometimes I feel like I need a bit more oomph and go with the high setting, but sometimes I'd rather go with the lower setting. Filling with water is simple and easy.CONS: My complaints about this product are relatively minor and I don't think they should deter you from buying this product unless you have very specific needs.-The power button is sometimes finicky. It's a touch-activated button (rather than a physical press-button), and if you don't touch it in just the right way or place, it sometimes doesn't respond. Even when you do press it in the right place, it still sometimes doesn't respond for some reason. So I sometimes have to press around several times before it responds. It's really not that big of a deal, but I think the manufacturer should think about re-engineering the button to be more reliable.-The dispenser on the top swivels around to allow you to direct the mist. But it doesn't really make much of a difference which direction you choose. I'd rather have the ability to direct more towards my face when I'm sleeping instead of straight up into the air and slightly to the left or right.-The timer has options for 2, 4, or 6 hours. I'd like to have an 8 hour option to make sure it operates during my whole sleep cycle.-The cleaning process is a bit befuddling to me. I'm not sure how often I should be cleaning it or how I should be cleaning it. So far, I've been rinsing it out and leaving it to dry every couple weeks. Some people say you should use vinegar or that you should clean it every day, but that just seems excessive.Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and I think the vast majority of American buyers would also be happy.

After reading reviews the few complaints about leaking, noise, hard to fill, doesn't run long, I decided to post this review. I purchased two of these humidifiers so I had an interesting opportunity for comparison.First off, if you have difficulty filling this tank you should get some exercise. The tank holds half a gallon which is four pounds. Secondly, if you do not think it runs long enough: you bought a humidifier that only holds half a gallon. It runs over eight hours which is plenty for a night's sleep or a day's work. Noise? It gurgles occasionally with a nice soothing watery sound. The motor is very quiet. If it leaks, most likely you did not get the two pieces seated together properly.I like this humidifier. We were having severe dryness issues at night, bloody nose, sinus swelling... the very first day/night we ran it I slept soundly all night with no breathing issues and that has continued. I did have an issue with the plunger in the fill cap catching because of a slight defect, but the seller responded immediately and the fix arrived by expedited shipping in a few days. This is how customer service should be. I would rate the product as 5 stars if it was perfect, but few things are. Running the units side by side it is obvious that one puts out more moisture than the other, as the attached pictures show. No big deal and, other than that, I find it a winner. I’ve been using this almost continuously for over 4 months now and I’m very happy with it. It puts puts a generous amount of mist and does a great job in my relatively small apartment. And it’s quiet. A few tips:--the on/off switch and the timer are activated with a light touch—they don’t work as well if you press down on them.--I find it easy to clean—I just put a little white vinegar with water in the base and let it sit for a few minutes. I put some vinegar and water in the reservoir and shake it well. It stays very clean but I also empty it each morning before I go to work and leave it to dry during the day—it only takes a minute to do and it really helps tremendously. On weekends it runs 24-7.--If it should stop running, try pressing the little spring in the tank cap—sometimes it gets stuck and water can’t get into the base. It worked for me when the unit stopped working and I haven’t had any more problems with it.--If it leaks when you turn the reservoir over to put it back in the base, press the little spring in the reservoir cap...it may be stuck open.--if the unit leaks when you're using it, be sure that the reservoir is firmly positioned on the base.Hope these are helpful!

This humidifier is perfect for a bedroom or office space. Easy to fill. Easy to clean. Other reviewers have talked about the many features. Do NOT forget to disinfect this humidifier regularly! An important CON: These types of inexpensive humidifiers do not have any anti-bacterial/anti-mold features. They WILL grow mold on the hard plastic. You have to take the machine and the reservoir apart (I do it once a week) in the sink and spray it will diluted clorox or high concentrate vinegar. Be sure to spray the tube that the steam flows through also. Let it sit. Then rinse well. If you don't do this, you will be spreading mold spores in the air. NOT a good thing and likely to make you ill. For the price and design features, I DO recommend it. If you aren't willing to disinfect periodically then you should consider spending more money to get a humidifier that has built-in anti-bacterial & anti-mold features.
