Artistic Solutions prickly pear paddles and plants are fresh and organically grown in SW Florida. Can be eaten by humans as well as pets, they can also be planted. Don’t be fooled by the cheaper version, they are not the same! Avoid disappointment and only order from Artistic Solutions!. In Florida, about nine species of Prickly-Pear can be found. This is one is a spineless prickly pear, the Burbank spineless or Barbary fig (Opuntia ficus-indica). Instead of long spines, the Barbary fig cactus, like all prickly pears, has glochids. Glochids are tiny, thin, and abundant hairs on a cactus pad that can be even more painful and harder to remove than a typical cactus spine. Flowers are red and the cactus is cold tolerant as long as you plant it high so water doesn't pond around it. Since it does not have spines, only glochids so not elatior.

My baby leopard tortoise loves it!
I tried to peel the cactus for my yearling but it's impossible. So I cut it into tiny pieces then just watched. He loves it. He has a hard time though eating the pieces. A piece gets stuck on his beak and he can't get it off. Plus, the cactus is extremely sticky and he ends up with hay and things stuck to his little legs. The cactus came in the mail. It's been a couple of weeks and it's still in good condition. I will purchase more when it runs out.

AMAZING CACTI! My baby tortoise loves it!
Shoutout to TONY from SOUTHWEST WHOLESALE!I have bought prickly pears from many different vendors, but this one was hands down the best I've gotten so far. The cacti were very fresh, sealed neatly, and arrived super quick. When you break a cactus piece in half, it usually creates a *crunch* noise, the one I got...sounded HEAVENLY! The vendor took the time to hand-pick fresh amazing pieces with a few flowers still attached (which was very personable and amazing). Also, Tony left me a detailed note of how to extend the quality of the cactus efficiency and how to prep it for human consumption for first timers. Tony definitely knows what he is doing!I would go back and purchase more for my baby tortoise! The first instance I wiggled it around her she immediately ran towards it - disregarding all the other yummies I had on her plate!

Abundance of cactus pads from Southwest Wholesale
Make sure you’re ordering from Southwest Wholesale! Tony is great, sent me instructions for feeding and care of the cactus pads, super helpful. Very happy and shocked at the amount of cactus pads I was sent for my hatchling Sulcata tortoise! Will definitely be ordering again from only him!

My tortoise could not care less.
Arrived quickly and just as advertised but my tortoise did not bite. She left it there and never looked at it again.

Very satisfied
Cam every fast & my girl LOVED it! Was like we were back living in CA, when we could just go into our back yard & cut cacti on our own!

Prickly pear cactus for tortoise
Timely arrival, very fresh for my tortoise. Although it's not his favorite food (he is super picky) there was plenty for him to eat.

Cacti are different from the pictures shown
Pads didn't look like what was shown. The pads used in the pictures are a totally different species from what I had gotten. The ones feature in the pictures have virtually no thorns yet the ones I received have a bunch of tiny pricks that are dangerous if i feed it to my pet tortoise. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM
