Purchased this item a year ago for the little ones' swim classes. Several times, I have said, "oh wow, this isn't that bad a bag considering where I got it from," because there is definitely junk on this site. But this one has held up against the swim. classes. Note that it held water-drenched towels more than being tossed around the pool, and the outside of the back remained dry. I'd say it's water-resistant more than waterproof, but it served its purpose well. It also worked well as a kids' soccer bag. It held a number 4 ball shin guards, kilts, an 18oz water bottle, and baby wipes in the front zipper pocket well without looking strained. The straps ride up, making it long and inconvenient at times. A similar option I was considering was double the price! The color gradient is so pretty, there is a ton of space to hold anything you need, and the material seems like it will last a long while. There are two zipping pockets on the outside. The front one is fairly sized, you could fit a wallet and/or cell phone in there. The side pocket is a bit smaller but you could fit a smaller wallet, phone, or other smaller items in there for faster access. The inside has a large main compartment, big enough to fit my lunchbox (standard size, and full), a book, an umbrella, and several more items. There is also another zipper pocket inside which is fairly sized, I chose to put some feminine products in there. There are also two different sized open pockets, one of which I stuck my spray on deoderant in. I hope this review helps you get an idea of the size.
