Excellent slip on phone case for the EVO 4G LTE
The Greatsheild Guardian S case was exactly what I was looking for. I compared it to the 2 Otter cases that were also available, but they were both more expensive and more bulky than the Guardian S slimline case. I gave this case 5 stars because I can't think of anything that could be done to improved it. It has openings for every port, and the opening for the earphone jack is large enough to accept a 1/8 stereo plug like one that might connect to an extenal sound system, for example, without having to remove the case - although that is easy enough to do should it ever become necessary. It is easy to use the kickstand with this case on, and the textured sides give the phone a very secure grip. The case is attractive, lightweight, and does not add any appreciable bulk to the phone. Additionally, it does not impede the functionality or usefulness of the phone in any way. It even has 2 tiny holes near the speaker opening for the purpose of attaching a lanyard - a feature that is of significant importance to my wife, a university professor (she carries her phone around her neck while on campus). All in all this case is a five star winner for me; its form and function are perfect for the EVO 4G LTE and the price can't be beat.

This beautifully fits my HTC EVO phone
This beautifully fits my HTC EVO phone. I'm glad that they pictured both sides of the unit in the product picture, because that did help me make sure I had the right model. Seeing the orange kickstand in the picture helped me be sure I was doing the right thing. The rubbery material fits tightly to the phone and wraps a smidgen of the way around the front on all four sides, so the phone looks like it should be protected in 98% of all falls. My guess is that the only fall that might hurt it is if it fell face down onto a object that hit the screen before the edges hit the floor. It does not have a front cover which is its only negative, but that also means that it's more convenient for taking pictures because you don't have to hold the pesky cover out of the way while taking pictures. I like it better than the prescription pill box that I used to use to carry it. (The Walmart box was exactly the right size and protected both sides of the phone, but it looked clunky in my pocket

An okay case from GreatShield… how disappointing!
Pros:1. Offers basic protection for the price. It won't be able to survive a drop from a 30 story building, but it'll protect against basic nicks and scratches. I assume it could at least protect from the "bending" problem some people have, where their phone bends a little bit due to being placed in the back pocket or something.2. The back has a bit of a smooth material to it, which feels nice, at least to me anyway. This is a bit of a half pro because it's not all smooth; it's got a bit of that gummy stuff which I can't stand.3. The side grips feel nice; it'll definitely help protect against accidental drops.4. It looks pretty cool. As much as I detest that gummy stuff, I do admit that contrast between that and the smooth material is nice looking.5. The form factor is great. It's not too bulky, so it fits in my pocket a lot nicer than my old case.Cons:1. The case feels a little flimsy on the sides. This might be a little nitpicky, though.2. The button overlay things are too big, and require more force than I think is necessary to press a button. Again, this one seems nitpicky, but I feel like I have to press harder to press a button. I don't like using more force than I believe is necessary to press a button, but maybe I'm alone on this one. Button cutouts would've been nicer in my opinion, but whatever.3. As mentioned in the second pro, the back has a little bit of that gummy stuff to it. I would've preferred if GreatShield used the same kind of smooth material for the entirety of the case.4. The price. The case cost me 12 dollars after shipping, and I really don't feel it's worth that much. If it ended up costing me $5 or even $8, I wouldn't mind and I would probably consider it a good deal, but I feel that $12 is a little costly. Although the high cost isn't necessarily their fault; the case was around 6 dollars, it was shipping that jacked the price up. If I was offered free (but slow) shipping, everything would be great. While the GreatShield is leagues better than my old case, I'm still not very happy with it. I'm a little disappointed, too! I was hoping it would be awesome. Regardless, it's still not bad. I wouldn't go out of my way to use it over something else though. If GreatShield lowered the price I would be more inclined to recommend it, although in hindsight, it's not entirely their fault, since the case was only 6 dollars. Shipping was the expensive part.I'll stick with it since a lackluster case is still better than no case, but I'll keep searching for a better case.

Decent Case
The case fits the Evo 4g LTE nicely and provides good basic protection without a whole lot of extra bulk. Nothing fancy here. There is a raised ridge around the screen so if you lay the phone down on the screen side on a flat surface it will be slightly raised above whatever you lay it on. The side buttons are all covered by the case so you have to push on a "button" like area of the case that presses on the real button below it. This seams to work fine for the power, camera, and volume buttons. The power connector/USB connector is uncovered and there is plenty of room for all types of those to connect. The case has two different colors of black on the back. The majority is slightly grey-black and is not very shiny (flat finish). The rest is sort of a shiny gloss black plastic look. The case is not slippery due to the sides that have raised bumps and the flat grey back area. There is a raised ridge on the case that protects the camera lens. One of the other reviewers mentioned the two small holes by the speaker at the bottom. These are probably for a lanyard. Not as popular here as they are in Asia in some places. My only gripe with the case is the logo on mine. The guy at the factory who put the "GreatShield" stamp on the back must have fallen asleep when he got to mine because it is crooked for the "Great" part and straight for the "Shield" part. If you can live with this kind of thing it is a great inexpensive case.
