Junk DOA
Never got this thing to work at all. I recieved it DOA but amazon was great they refunded my money and told me not to trouble with sending it back. Although i tossed the piece of junk it was no good for anything. I assumed the product must have been a product flop for others. I eventually bought a device called the Tile which is awesome and does what the zoom device was supposed to do, but perfectly! Thanks Tile

Can't get out of recovery mode. Completely useless.
I got this product and followed all the instructions. I connected it to my computer and it wanted me to update the firmware. The firmware update failed and it went into recovery mode. I've tried multiple computers, USB cables, and ports, and it can never download the firmware - it gets stuck at about 40% and then goes into recovery mode again. It is completely dead and useless. I opened a support ticket on the company web site and nobody responded. I never even used it once. Junk.

Wasted purchase
I purchased this because I was feeling very vulnerable, and because I have regularly left my keys or phone.Unfortunately the other bad reviews are right:It isn't loud enough for an alarm. It should have 2 volumes, the alarm it sets off when the phone is too distant and a separate louder alarm for emergencies. Also this uses bluetooth 1, the range of that type of bluetooth is 30ft, that is where they get this 30ft range from... I definitely do not get 30ft from it and it looses signal if things cross between it and my phone. I use a bluetooth headset that works so much better at this.I never could get this set up on my computer or the app on my phone, it works fine basically but if I want to set up the emergency phone # I can't. I *think* that is really the only thing I'd want to access on the computer or my phone BUT if there was a way to set this up with Locale or Tasker so that it would be quieter in certain locations/times when it lost connection or so it could be switched to vibrate only that would be great.I stopped using it after a few days, I had a meeting where the thing went off several times in a row before I turned it off. My phone and the zomm were right next to eachother.

Would be great if it worked like it should.
I have two issues with the Zomm:First, Siri on the iPhone gets confused when the Zomm is connected because it thinks you want to talk through it. So every time I want to use Siri, I have to go through one failed attempt before it figures out it needs to use the phone's microphone and then it starts working again (though I just tested it now and it won't work at all).Second, I keep it in my pocket and it is surprisingly easy to activate the emergency feature unintentionally (actually did it just today). The button can get compressed when I kneel down and then all of a sudden I hear, "Dialing emergency services" and have a little panic. Thank goodness I set it up to call my wife and not 911 or I'd probably be in jail for all the times I'd have called 911 unintentionally. I imagine it would work better in a purse but I still wouldn't actually assign 911 as the emergency number. I also deactivated the panic alarm because I kept setting that off too, which is embarrassing.I could see the Zomm being really valuable to a woman who wants the added security of a quick and easy way to call for help and could also keep it in her purse where it's less likely to be accidentally activated. However, I do think there could be a more effective way of ensuring the button isn't depressed unintentionally and the Siri problem is a major irritation. So far the Zomm has saved me maybe once from leaving my phone in a cold car overnight and it only takes once to pay for itself.

WHY DIDN'T I READ THE REVIEWS
Ordered 2 of these gave them both as Christmas Gifts to family. How embarrassing when they both failed to charge and work. They do not charge, they do not turn on. It is a piece of plastic that does absolutely nothing. One I can see not working but both??

Some confusion on Zomm versions
I really wanted to like this device. It seemed kind of cool and could solve a big problem for me - keeping my keys and phone together while not losing them. Unfortunately, it fails overall in performance due to several reasons: - There seem to be two versions of the Zomm: Zomm and Zomm plus. The plus is the only version that works with the iphone app and seems to integrate the best with the iphone. As of today, I could not find any of the plus versions for sale on Amazon.- The Zomm is really a one way device for alerting you when you leave your cell phone. That is nice, however, what about when you leave your Zomm (and whatever it is attached to) behind? Not as good. The alarm sounded too late on the Zomm and I could not hear it as I was several rooms away.- Finally its just annoying. Leaving the Zomm behind sets you up to annoy your coworkers friends and family and you don't know it (as the alarm sounds). Also, as documented in other reviews, the speakerphone just does not integrate well with your iphone. When it does work, it sounds bad. Really not much of an upgrade over a phone with an external speaker.

DO NOT BUY
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I could not get my iPhone to connect with it and when I tried to go to the iPhone specific support page it was down. The telephone contact just tells you to send them an email which I have done without any response. It's one big hoax and Amazon should stop selling this.

Humpty-Dumpty Zomm Leash/Speakerphones
It was too easy to lose and was beyond fragile. We had bought two of them, but my husband could not keep track of them. Somehow, it would come loose and fall. Crash! I don't think they last two months. And this is before the price dropped down. The first time he dropped #1, he got it back together with a little tape. Second fall, no such luck. Within a week, he dropped #2 and that was that.Recommended? NoWould I buy it again? Not without significant changes.
