Excellent!
This is my first HD capture device. I loved the fact that you get all three of today's video inputs, and the price was good too. Being that it was one of the cheapest devices of it's kind, I wasn't sure what to expect from the quality, but I have to say, the quality is excellent. I like the fact that you can use an SD card or flash drive, that way you don't have to unhook the device, to then take it to your computer to dump the footage off. You can also power it from a wall outlet or a USB slot. My TV has a USB slot, and so I can power it from my TV. If I turn the TV off, the unit shuts off. I guess the only odd thing about it, is for every 2gb of video that's recorded, it has to create a new video file. Not a big issue though. I can just rejoin the video segments with my video editor. It's a very cool unit, and I would recommend it to anyone!

Needs work
First-the unit I received did NOT record in 1 file thru the HDMI or Component inputs. The recording from computer HDMI went well in it's multiple parts. Recording thru Component was mostly corrupt and the video quality, particularly in color and contrast was not that good. Finding tech support for this exact product is very difficult--they give you no information in the literature that comes with the unit.

how to repair none working recorder.
unit first arrived none working.memory had to be wiped so that it could reset itself.it had to be opened and the battery unplugged for one minute.after plugging battery back in,it took off like a champ.records everything.loads a driver on the hard drive.video output is perfect.it is a nice little unit.easy to change lithium battery when needed.

First one died about a year later, only was used about a dozen times.Second one was DEAD ON ARRIVAL.Simplistic features are helpful, but unfortunately, no quality control, obviously.

Have really enjoyed capturing video with this little devise
Have really enjoyed capturing video with this little devise. Don't let the low cost or size worry you. Uses the component output, capturing into an external (I use a 64GB thumb dtive). Software is provided to join the captured MP4 segments and edit out unwanted content.

Good but some problem
I have been using the device for the last 9 months. I usually record 3 hour videos. The recording is good. But there is a problem. The recording stops by itself after sometime. This happens at least 2 to 3 times during 1 session.

Product is easy to use and with the remote convenient
Product is easy to use and with the remote convenient. However the unit would not record more then 14fps which causes a film like effect similar to converting PAL to NTSC or vice versa. Unfortunately not the quality recording I was looking for.
