Homes in a Box: Modern Homes from Sears Roebuck (Schiffer Design Book)

I have two books from different publisher and both are reprints of the old Sears Roebuck catalogs. I don't mind. The other one is 1913's catalog and is on glossy paper. This one is on flat paper and it strains the eyes less. I'm keeping both of them because they're awesome.

Very nice book. Paperback was well made and information was just what I wanted.

If you're going to buy *all* the books out there on Sears Homes, you'll certainly want this one in your collection. It's a reprint of the 1912 Sears Modern Homes catalog.And it has some designs of homes I'd not seen elsewhere and that makes it a valuable resource. But once again, it is JUST a reprint - not a contemporary book explaining the history and ongoing rehab of (now) historic Sears Catalogue Homes.That being said, I have two copies and frequently recommend this book at my lectures.Roseauthor, The Houses That Sears Built

Just what we were looking for. Would buy again. We bought the book as it had the house plan in it that is the house we live in. A new "old looking" craftsman style.

Disappointing. Those who republished this book provide it with no introduction, and they omit even the year that it was originally published; leaving the reader ignorant of the vintage of these particular Sears homes.

Arrived early. No damage. Very well illustrated. Lots of information. Well worth the money. Would buy books from same company on similar subjects. Would recommend.

This is a great book and I have had a copy for many years. It has a wealth of information in it and I must admit, as with other Sears Homes Books, I couldn't put it down.There are lot's of photo's and floor plans throughout the book.Don't skip this one if you collect Sears Homes stuff.
