Please be aware that, rolling stock other than locomotives, is fully compatible with other brands. Locomotives are compatible, depending on power supply (DC or AC) DC locomotives can be used only on the DC track and AC locomotives only on the AC powered track. The 2-6-0 Mogul first appeared about 1852 as a rigid-frame locomotive. The first of the type with a swivelling lead truck (invented 1864) were built for the Louisville & Nashville Railroad by Baldwin in the 1870s. The Mogul offered about 50 percent more tractive effort than the 4-4-0 American. Moguls built after 1900 were much heavier (up to 100 tons). In all some 8.000 Moguls were built, first of them as a heavy freight engines, but with the arrival of the 2-8-0 Consolidation in 1966 the Moguls were relegated to lighter duties. Some of them lasted till 1959 when the last was scrapped. The model represents class M-4, one of lighter Moguls built by Cooke and Schenectady between 1899 and 1901 for Southern Pacific Lines.
