Nancy Drew #20: High School Musical Mystery (Nancy Drew Graphic Novels: Girl Detective)

This book was full of surprises. The biggest of all being the Dana Girls. The Dana Girls are sister detectives who go to a private school for girls and had their own series from the writer of Nancy Drew back in both 1930s and 1960s. All their titles appear to be out of print as far as I can tell which is a shame and I would of like to of read more about them. This story deals with Nancy dropping off one of the school teachers at the school when Nancy's friends Bess and Nancy run into the Dana Girls' best friend. Each thinking their friends with the world's great detective. So to prove it they conduct a make believe mystery musical for the girls to solve. Only a real mystery falls into their lap right in the middle of it that they have to solve as well. The Dana Girls are know for finishing each other sentences and thinking of Nancy as a third sister soon become apart of the sentence finishing as well.

However, the contest gets hijacked by rivals of Nancy and the Dana Sisters, and then by a mysterious third party who is playing for keeps..."High School Musical Mystery" has some genuine drama and suspense wrapped around a little girl detecting rivalry. To top it all off, the story ends in a cliff-hanger, to be concluded in "High School Musical Mystery: Part Two." Both are highly recommended to the latest generation of fans of Nancy Drew.
