Tried (and kept) both versions
I've always liked this type of nozzle. We had a couple when I was a kid, one of which had kind of Victorian-looking lettering on the base that always fascinated me. However, I'm short on time so will dispense with the sentimentality. I'd read a blurb on these somewhere about being lead-free and not leaking. The ones I got from Amazon (shown above) are Made in USA but not labeled lead free (which I honestly don't think is a big deal -- more on that in a minute). Contacted the company directly and found they have a lead-free version as well, so got a pair of those also (both versions are sold in 2-packs). I'm not sure if the earlier version is being produced concurrently w/the lead-free or if it's being phased out in favor of the lead-free model, didn't think to ask them. I work in maintenance for the USPS so I see & use a fair amount of tools. The quality on these jumps out of the box at you. Fit, finish, smoothness of operation were immediately apparent ... but ....would they leak? I took both in to work on a dry, hot day and had to wait til late in the morning to test them (work always interferes with the important stuff). Our outside spigot comes through the wall just off the main line, so there's substantial water pressure. I inserted a new rubber washer into each ( I find putting the side with the 3 small tabs in first works best), screwed the earlier (non lead-free) version onto the hose coupling as tightly as it would go, and turned the spigot on all the way and watched as the water made its' way through the hose & out to the nozzle. Nothing. Not a spray, not a dribble, left it on the cement sidewalk for a minute ... not a drop. Picked it up, turned it open & put it through all phases from fine spray to solid stream and back again. Screwed it shut, dried it with a piece of paper towel, put it down on a dry spot on the cement and again, nothing. Not a drop! Results for the "lead-free" version were identical ... built, literally, like a Swiss watch (this goes for both versions). We have a couple of sinks at work with signs over them instructing anyone using them to first run the water for 30 seconds. This is because the water sat overnight in pipes which may have lead soldered joints. Considering the speed at which water passes through a nozzle, I doubt it would have a chance to absorb much if any lead. However, hats off to the company for taking the additional step of implementing the use of lead-free brass. The first version (pictured) is a deeper yellow color brass. The lead-free version is noticeably lighter in color, about 1/4" longer & maybe an ounce heavier, both are good-sized & built like tanks. An absolute pleasure to own & use!

Excellent
You will find hose nozzles that look similar at the large hardware stores for a lot less. But those are not the same quality as these and don't last. These are well machined and the brass is superior. They will outlast the cheap ones many times over. If you only need them for a season the cheap ones will work. Or buy these and leave them to your kids.

Work great.
So far they seem to work great and appear durable.

Well Worth the Money + Update after a few years
Real, old fashioned quality. The last one of these you will every buy. For fun unscrew the cheap Chinese junk sold at Ace and compare the actual valve area to this product. No comparison, much thicker brass, better design, will not bend and leak if dropped once. After a few years.... While indestructible, these need occasional maintenance for normal operation, that is lubrication and/or replacement of the "O" ring. Just unscrew and lubricate with silicone grease. Replace "O" ring if cracked.

Quality product
The USA made nozzles are excellent quality. These are absolutely best in class compared most of the other nozzles on the market today. Very similar to Dramm. I have many vintage nozzles from Rainbird, Dramm and others and they are very similar in quality. The design is two solid pieces and has no pressure fitted parts that can work apart like most of the other brass nozzles. This seller also offers an imported version that's "lead free". I tried those and they are also very nice for the money but I noticed they had slightly lower tolerances on the machining. One had a faint wobble when turning making an slight irregular spray pattern (most would not notice) and another took extra force to shut off. None of this had any material effect on the performance. The seller offered to replace one that was hard to shut off but I was just nitpicking. After a few days of using it seated property. I was impressed that he offered to send a new one immediately no questions asked. Great seller, buy with confidence.

Absolutely The World's Best, no doubt about it.
Absolutely the best nozzle I have ever used. It is hands down the highest quality, heavy duty, and unbelievably well made. I would recommend putting a turn-off valve on your hose as well, which then provides infinite control of both water volume and spray pattern. I can go from misting a fragile seedling a few inches away to blasting a full stream over 50 ft. away in under 1 second. The nozzle doesn't leak a drop, which means no more messing around with the plastic pieces of garbage from the big box stores that leak right out of the box and get thrown away at the end of each season, that is if you're lucky enough to have it last a full season. I'm buying a bunch of these for gifts this year. I love gifts like this that are inexpensive yet totally awesome. They'll have it forever and remember you every time they use it.

Solid, robust, simple. This is the nozzle you've been looking for.
Solid construction, simple operation. I was tired of every other hose nozzle breaking, leaking or becoming hard to use after a season or two. These nozzles, coupled with the angled shutoff valve (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014CHI81Y/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_15) make a really nice, robust, simple setup. The nozzles adjust smoothly from off, to fine spray, to focused spray, to jet. Add the angled shutoff valve and now you can control the flow with a quarter-turn, giving you infinite flexibility from a slow stream to fill a water balloon to a nice spray for the plants, to a jet for hosing off the car (or waging a water war with the kids! ;) I didn't care about the lead content one way or the other (no one will be drinking out of them) so I went with this cheaper option.
