Good tactical knife, not a great survival/bushcraft knife without modification
The media could not be loaded. This knife is pretty bad ass looking. The handle is very solid and is very comfortable in your hand. It also has three places on the knife with holes so you can securely lash your knife onto a stick to make a spear out of.The knife construction is also very solid, and strong. I was able to do some simple batoning to test it out and it handled it without issue. The blade comes out of the package pretty sharp. Sharpening it with the peculiar shaped blade is difficult, but not impossible with the right tools. I made some pine scrapings with the blade, and it did it easily. My only gripe with this knife is that because it has the Blackstone finish on it you can pretty much forget using the spine of the knife as a ferro rod striker. I even tried filing off the finish on the spine a bit, but it still was pretty lousy as making sparks. If you buy this for a survival knife, be sure to bring something else to use as a striker.Edit: I decided to use a grinder to create a ferro rod striker area on the spine of the knife and now it throws sparks like crazy. I decided to change my rating to 4 out of 5 stars. It would have been 5 out of 5 if I didn't have to modify the knife. Check out my video where it only takes one strike with the knife to light tinder with my ferro rod after I modified the knife. Also, the handle is made out of Micarta (According to the Hawke Brand Website) which is the same handle material you find on Tops knifes that cost about $100 more.Although I love the stock sheath, I decided to make a custom sheath for it as well. Now I love this knife even more!

Cool Design, But Dull
Blade is dull from the package, and the handle materials were loose. I was able to fix both issues, but I expect better.

Another win for Hawke6
This is my new Go-to-War knife. Thick steel with an ergonomic rubber handle. It fits my hand perfectly. The sheath isn't anything to write home about, but for this price-point, who cares. I can't wait to beat the crap out of it. One thing I'd like to see is a Gen2 with the handle at more of an angle, make it shaped like a "mini Hawke-chete."

The sheath could be a little better. maybe even leather
The knife itself is high quality. The sheath could be a little better.maybe even leather

Nice knife.
Knife seems great! Blade stock is plenty thick and doesn’t feel brittle or cheap, came with a nice sharp edge, grip panels seem sturdy and are screwed on so they can be tightened or replaced if needed. The sheath seems overdone and much too tactical for my purposes, but i only need it for camping, so ymmv.
