He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother [Hillsborough Tribute Single 2012]

I always thought all the stuff that went down at the time was a bit dubious and I am so relieved at last the truth ios out and to boot we have an excellent toon in tribute to lthose long suffering and agrieved families.You would not normally get me to part with 2 squid for a CD single but in this case it was an honour to part with my hard earned cash for a just cause.And I really love the fact that it's still got that harmonica solo on it as the intro Tommy Morgan did the original for The Hollies I have been trying very hard to establish if he did it also on this version? I remember the guy who did being interviewed on radio and saying how nervous he was about getting it right because of this association but the info on the CD gives no hint.

This is a single to raise awareness and money for the Hillsborough disaster in 96. ( Hence the cover of the single)' He ain.t heavy' was a No 1 for the Hollies many years AFTER they released it and it IS a fine song / Robbie AND McCartney are on this single. THAT is enough for me!! It consists of many Artists. Its for a good cause which Amazon are part of. That TOO is enough for me to support it. I recommend it as a song AND a Charity Single. Excellent

I would recommend this to those with a conscience, a record to help the families of the people who went to see a game of football and never returned to their families and did not get some form of justice until over 30 years later. If there is less of a reason to buy this record I have never heard it.The only critique i would have is it is not as good as the original version by The Hollies, meant well but just not as good.

I've already bought the mp3 download from Amazon and have that on my mobile, plus I used the text download facility to put it onto my other mobile but I also wanted the disc to keep so I've just ordered a copy for myself plus another copy to be sent to my son in Liverpool. It's not much but I hope my small contributions help towards this very worthy cause and the families concerned will, at last, get justice.

This is for such a good cause. What the families have been through trying to get justice for their loved ones is outrageous. They should be given every bit of help they need to bring to justice those responsible for them having to wait all these years, whilst their relatives were wrongly accused of causing this tragedy themselves. I only hope this goes some way to helping their legal fees and expenses. Please God they get the justice they so rightly deserve and soon.

I love the original song but the meaning behind the release of this cd makes the meaning behind the words even more heart-felt. I remember that day and this track really makes you sit up and think. I had tears in my eyes when the track had finished. Well done for choosing such an amazing song to remember such a terrible day.
