Midnight Robber

This book takes you so far from reality I almost forgot I was in college and had classes to focus on. I love this book more than anything. The vernacular, plot, writing & direction is spectacular and it’s definitely a good read for those who love to venture out into other realms! I love this book so much! The ending is also bittersweet as well, it makes you crave more and more! Good read.

Best to listen to this book. The dialect was so unusual for me that I found it difficult to read. Once I started listening to it I felt like I was listening to a master storyteller. The Audible recording was excellent read by Robin Miles.

I simply can not understand why so many people gave this book five stars. The Caribbean dialect it is written in is distracting ( it might not be for someone more familiar with it). And the story is simplistic. It was an Interesting read, and a decent book, but nothing spectacular.

Very interesting book that is linguistically innovative and fun to read. It took me a while to get into it and to adjust to the use of language, but once I did I really enjoyed it.

Only my second read by Nalo, and I'm beginning to crave her writing. This narrative is so concise that I felt like I was in the Caribbean. Love the mythology elements!

the main character suffered a bit too much for my liking and triumphs she experienced didn't balance out all the pain.

This is my favorite book now! It is wonderful in so many ways! The language is rich, I love the way Caribbean folklore is used creatively here and the characters are so well developed. It is one of the most imaginative books I have read and it provokes so much thought about history, human nature, science, and psychology. And, it features the best aliens ever!
