A witty, engaging and solid second book!
I really enjoyed reading this book. Sara Wolfâs writing is fluid, witty, and a delight to experience. It is the type of writing that immerses you so much into a story that you forget you are reading and just experience. This book was definitely a couldnât put down, rush to finish, read.Find Me Their Bones is a story about the struggle to find value in oneself. It is about sacrifice, solidarity, and well intentions going wayward. Zera, a heartless who finds herself under the command of a new witch, is trying to cut ties with the ones she has loved, betrayed, and feels she never deserved in the first place; all the while trying to save them by participating in a plan to bring peace to a forever warring land, and hopefully her heart back to her chest.Wolf, once again, writes rich, compelling characters and has an intriguing plot that weaves answers and questions expertly to keep the reading riveted until the end. I loved the lore and history that is learned and expanded upon in this book. The relational conflicts and mishaps felt earned and not contrived, and I continued to love the interactions between Zera and Lucian. The book does end with a cliffhanger, which isnât my favorite, but the story has wrapped up by then. Iâm excited about the final book in this trilogy and I expect that it will live up to the standard the first two books have set.Positives:Excellent writing, character development, pacing and plotNegatives:Cliffhanger ending.Things that might matter to some people:LGBTQ relationship/representation. No language. Mild violence. Some kissing.

A mesmerizing sequel that is just as good as its predecessor
Bring Me Their Hearts, the first book in Sara Wolfâs enchanting Heartless trilogy, blew me away last year and became one of my all-time favorite books. And when I thought this series could not get any better, Find Me Their Bones lands in my lap and left me speechless. This book is emotionally beautiful and painful and raw. In Find Me Their Bones, relationships are tested, boundaries are crossed, and secrets are revealed. And not everyone will be prepared for the surprising twist.Sara Wolf does it again. Find Me Their Bones is an excellent masterpiece, a sequel that stands beautifully next to its predecessor, in covers and written word. This brilliant book is full of sass and heart; I can see that Sara poured her heart into this book and thatâs one of the things that makes this book so special. She has created a world and characters that I absolutely adore, and I am so thankful these books came into my life when they did.Find Me Their Bones picks up right where Bring Me Their Hearts left off. Zera is still a Heartless, but now Lucien, his sister (who was thought to be dead), and the King know her secret. And now Zera is no longer under the control of her first witch, the witch that took her heart. She now belongs to Princess Varia, who surprised everyone by turning out to be a powerful witch that tricked Zera and Lucien.âIâve learned, Your Highness, that it is easier to hate than it is to love.âZera has so much character growth in Find Me Their Bones. Sheâs still sarcastic and sassy and amazing, but she starts to let herself hope that she will get her heart back and starts to imagine what her life will be like. She knows sheâs messed up all her relationships with her friends and Lucien, but her main goal has always been her heart. So, she strikes a deal with Princess Varia: train a valkerax to Weep in exchange for her heart. Itâs almost an impossible deal, but Zera accepts. But along this journey, Zera discovers that there is more at stake than ever before. Princess Varia doesnât just need the valkerax to Weep; she has a more dark and twisted plan that will change the lives of everyone in the kingdom. It will ultimately change the potentially outcome of a battle between the humans and witches. And Lucien is dead set on making sure his sister does nothing that will harm her and the people he has vowed to protect.ââI can assure you, as someone who spent his life chasing power,â Gavik says, âwhen absolute power presents itself, there are no âjustsâ anymoe. It is all or nothing.'âZera continues to be my ultimate favorite character. She doesnât remember much from being human, but her emotions start to materialize more in this book. She finally has something worth dying for; she finally has friends and family she wants to protect at all costs, even if it means not getting her heart in return. In the sequel, more of Zeraâs strengths (and weaknesses) are revealed. Itâs clear as day that she wants to keep her friends and Lucien in her life, but she believes theyâre better off without her. She doesnât quite understand why these people would want to still befriend her, after everything she does. And that was beautiful to watch unfold, to see Zera realize that sheâs not alone in this cruel world.Wolfâs writing is masterful and captivating. Her world building is phenomenal and the characters she has created are magnificent. Sara is an instant-buy author for me because her writing isnât just there to show the readers what is going on; she writes with emotion so the readers can understand what the characters are feeling in that moment. Thatâs another reason why this book is so close to my heart (I also find a kindred spirit in Zera, so thatâs a plus).âHeartless with their heart is a human whoâs been injured and has injured in return. And though the wounds have been healed magically, the memories still remain, stabbing and slicing better than the instruments of pain.âTHAT ENDING. Sara definitely knows how to leave her readers hanging, and now I donât know how I can wait until next year. This book tore me open and left me in need of a beating heart. These characters, especially Zera, mean so much to me, and Iâm even more emotionally attached to them and their story than I was in the first book.Bring Me Their Hearts is a series I will forever recommend. This series is filled with so many emotions and sassy banter and romantic moments. If youâre looking for a fun fantasy read, I implore you to read this series, you wonât be disappointed!

Enthralling Continuation of Bring Me Their Hearts!
âNothing distracts me from my own thoughts better than a book. And I need distraction now more than ever. I need to read someone elseâs words to clear my head of all the ones buzzing around in my skull.â- Page 249I couldnât have said it better myself, Ms. Wolf, for reading is what gets me through every day. This book, in particular, was a welcome distraction from the world outside. I liked it much better than its predecessor and Iâm hoping that I enjoy the conclusion even more.Things I liked: snarky, fierce heroine; determined lovestruck prince; impossible task of befriending gigantic lion-worm creature, insane description of being burned alive, sweet gestures, and witchy mysteries.Things I didnât like: completely stubborn, way-too-hard-on-herself heroine; not near enough romance (but when it happens, itâs swoon-worthy!); no Yâshennria.Hopefully, all these items will be better in Send Me Their Souls. Thereâs a lot left to do...Zera still needs her heart, someone needs to save Varia from herself and the world sheâs intent on destroying, a princely hook-up, reunions, and a happily ever after.Hereâs high hopes that the conclusion fulfills all my wishes!

Love, loyalty and sacrifice!
Love, loyalty and sacrifice! The second book in the Bring Me Their Hearts trilogy feels much calmer than the first. I want to know more about Varia and how she came into her position and knowledge at this point in her life. More opens up about Lucien and lâm hoping the third book will address my questions and other readersâ questions. Yori and Malachite are both interesting and entertaining and Zera still has the sense of humor that I enjoy. The suspense and danger didnât seem as intense but the witch fire scene built up the action and we get to see vulnerability in some of the characters. Iâm looking forward to the next book and I hope it brings the story and these characters full circle. 4 stars!

Zera drove me nuts!!
Now don't get me wrong I still enjoyed this book, the story was well written, well placed and overall it was well developed too.In the first book I fell in love with Zera, because even though she was a heartless she acted more human than most characters, and I suppose that continues in this book. However the strong female lead that I fell for in the first book drove me absolutely bonkers in this second installment. She made very dubious decisions at every turn even when other options were made avaliable to her.I hope she gets her spunk and fighting spirit back for book 3.Only thing left to say is can I have book 3 now please??

Did not disappoint - go read it now!
I've been hanging out for the second instalment for this series and was very excited that today was the day it finally came out! I managed to sit down and read it all in one hit, and boy it did not disappoint. Absolutely loved it. The development of the characters and plot are top notch. Only downside, it does end on another cliffhanger but I kind of expected it would. So I guess that means waiting for book number 3. Definitely worth the read.
