decent economy dash cam
I purchased this dash cam about a year and a half ago. I had researched some other dash cams, but was hesitant to purchase due to the expense. When I saw a $20 lightning deal discount, I finally bit the bullet and got my first dash cam after reading through the reviews. It does the job but, for the price, you should probably weigh the pros and cons.Pros:*Great video quality - I am impressed with the brightness and clarity of the videos*Economic priceCons:*No external battery life*Suction cup is weak - I have worn out 2 Kehan suction cup mounts and ended up purchasing a different suction cup to avoid frustration.*Annoying greeting at start up/shut down - it took me a little while to figure out how to mute this, but it is possible.*Menu buttons are not easy to navigate - for the longest time, I need to plug it into the computer to review footage. It took me a long time to get used to the menu/selection buttons in order to figure out how to take photos or review video clips from the dash cam itself.**About 2 months ago, the menu buttons were sticking/didn't work properly and display and/or recording indicator lights (blue and red) started acting up. Sometimes the display screen is completely blank or the indicator lights don't flash when the dash cam is plugged in. I sometimes think that the device is powered off, but the indicator light just isn't blinking. I haven't isolated a reason for this and it doesn't happen all the time, but I do make an effort to check periodically to make sure it still records all my trips. The menu buttons seem to function OK again, but I wasn't able to update the date/time stamp in the settings until recently - when the buttons decided to work again.Cons aside, it functions as a basic dash cam and I hope it lives for a long time. Don't hold your breath that the suction cup mount will live up to your expectations though.

Nice video but tiny battery.
I've only had this camera for a couple of days now. So far I am impressed with the video quality. The built in screen is not all that great for viewing so its best to download the files to a computer or hook up the mini HDMI or AV out to a TV or other monitor. Its pretty simple to use and I didnt really need any instructions to figure out how to get it up and running. UI is not very good but its passable. Only thing I dont like about it so far is the tiny battery thats built in. Its only 250mah and will only last a few minutes. I know its meant to be powered for use in vehicle but I would have liked it to last for more than 5~10 minutes without needing to be plugged in.

I Don't Find an Automatic Power Down....
I just installed two of these in my cars. It so far seems to be a very high quality product for the price. My only disappointment so far, which keeps me from rating it at 5 Stars, is that it has to be shut off manually. The 12v port in both of my cars is always on so it doesn't auto power down. I have seen other cameras for less money that do power off with lack of activity. Maybe I have something not set correctly, but I sure don't see where it is. Other than this minor issue, I like it very much so far, but I reserve the right to modify this review after a few says use. I may add a Star if I can find that feature on this camera.....

The battery does not last long, but i had a problem with one of the camera and i contacted the seller and the new version of the camera does not has an issue with the battery. Seller are very professional and attended my needs. I actually, sent the other camera to china to get fix, they were very professional and they send it back already fixed.

Not a bad product, but not 1080p resolution, more like 1080i or 720p....
The reviews on Amazon are so over-hyped on some products these days you have to wonder if one should ever pay attention to what is said about a product...me included I guess, but here goes.Got my Kehan KH821 the other day and have used it extensively since. It was a deal for the day and thought it was worth a try. It's my 7th dash cam (have three vehicles and still have one for each) and I have gone the cheap route and the more expensive route, and as always, you get what you pay for. But overall, the KH821 is not a bad product, but just a bit over-hyped as a 1080 video resolution. It's certainly not 1080p, but more like 1080i or 720p. Not sure why so many review rave about it...I guess the cheaper price. I did side by side video comparisons of the same route during sunny days and it's definitely no more than 720p quality, which is fine for the price and you get a 32gb SD card in the deal. I got my for $79 and feel it's worth that....but if your gonna pay the going rate of $99 or more....do yourself a favor and spend another 40 bucks on a real 1080p dash cam, it does make a difference. Mine arrived with a missing nut to the suction cup adjustment screw and had to replace, kinda flimsy setup for the adjustment angle when mounted to the windshield, plus the thing doesn't rotate 180 degrees when attached to the windshield to take video of inside the vehicle, no big deal, but I have other dash-cams that will do that, just a tad pointless it doesn't rotate around. A tad misleading in the product description (230 degree rotatable Suction cup holder). Essentially means it rotates to 115 degrees either direction. Anyway, will keep the dash-cam as a rear view of vehicle dash cam...works fine for who's on your butt. Oh by the way, I noticed when you turn the camera upside down, it rotates on the screen to right side up, but unfortunately, the video is still upside down....who knows why they did that.

Very Good Spec Car Cam:
Having used a few of the cheaper dash cams for several years with varied results I decided to go for something a little better.Having discovered this KEHAN model which appeared to suit my needs I read all the previous reviews & admit that it influenced my decision to purchase. As usual the free delivery was ahead of estimate & item well packaged. Being used to these sometimes awkward camera menu's I did not refer to the book initially..... Should have because it is important to charge the unit via USB/Pc beforehand. I tried to set up menu settings using the car 12v but it became very erratic, start up/ shut down etc. I presume this was because the power I was using was greater than the power input. Now it's all set up it works perfectly and the 170 degree wide view is worthwhile although the scene is curved slightly upwards either side & lens needs to point slightly upwards to eliminate dashboard & reflections. The swivel mount also rotates easily to change the angle if needed and camera (while fiddly) detaches from mount for downloading via USB or the micro SD can be removed for same purpose via card adaptor. The only downside is that the light in 12v plug does not illuminate (it should) and my outlet is constant live so have to manually insert/remove plug so need a visual reminder. I am just using a another same rated lead which does the job. If your 12v is via ignition so much the better as camera fires up & records automatically. You can also take still frames, have audio on or off & in the event of an accident or dispute can be detached to record video/audio/stills as a normal camera supported by built in battery. All in all a neat & effective piece of kit for a reasonable price. For the first time camera user, remember that to be effective in evidence you must set date & time before use. This is maintained on the integrel battery which is charging when plugged into 12v during use or can be topped up via USB. You can also set up Driver ID which can be set to appear with datestamp as further validity

Five Stars
Does what it's supposed to very well with the exception of the collision detection being a tad too sensitive.
