Entreat Plus

I’d heard about this album on the Holy Hour podcast & decided to try my luck at finding it. And oh wow, what a show! I saw them on the Prayer (disintegration) tour but I don’t remember it being like this. I ended up driving around for an hour just to listen to it a second time. If you love the Cure (and if you’ve read this far you surely do), you need this.Just know there are multiple versions. I received the original 1990 release, 8 songs, not remixed or remastered. The remastered version has had some criticism over changes, and some issues with the US pressing, but I haven’t heard that one yet. Entreat Plus is a remaster with four extra songs - purists say the original was the best tho. And while I haven’t heard the others myself yet, I have to say it would be seriously hard to top this masterpiece.

I purchased this used but it is in pristine condition. The seller even put a sales receipt dated back in '91 inside the CD case. I am a huge Cure fan and I never purchase live albums but I have heard so much about this album over the years and how good the concert is from London. Well, folks did not lie. It is an excellent concert consisting of Disintegration tracks only. It is a really good listen and shows how good a band the Cure is live. Especially this incarnation w/the same musicians who recorded the landmark album. They sounded so tight and Robert's voice was really strong especially on Prayers for Rain. Very good listen and I am elated that I finally have it in my collection.

I’m not huge on live albums, but The Cure are in very good form here performing the Disintegration album in its entirety. Little crowd noise and mostly faithful renditions, so it’s kind of like an alternate version of the album, aside from a non-whispery “Lullaby” and a faster version of the title track.

This review should go quick and easy... If you bought this album or are thinking of getting it, it means that most likely you're a fan of The Cure. More specifically, you probably are a fan of Disintegration (or at least have heard it). Entreat is the live version of Disintegration, song by song , and in the same order.Disintegration is a great album, one of The Cure's best. Entreat, I'm my opinion, is a must-have, especially for fans!

I love the album, the presentation is great, but my second disk is a little warped. It plays flawlessly so there isn't a problem, it just isn't perfect.

What a real treat for Cure fans: the complete version of Entreat sounding better than ever on vinyl. The perfect companion peace to Disintegration, recorded at a time when The Cure were at their peak both artistically and in concert.For anyone lucky/old enough to have seen them during The Prayer Tour in '89 this record is the ideal document because it captures the raw energy and pulsating talent of what was the definitive live line-up: Smith, Gallup, Thompson, Williams, and O'Donnell.The only thing that could make this record better is if they released the whole concert, but that would probably be a 4 or 5 vinyl disc release.

Nothing to dislike.This is considered a real, rare gem by most Cure fans.

Really clear sound, the drums particularly have a nice crisp deep noise. In my opinion sounds much better than the Entreat + disc included in the deluxe edition of disintegration.

If you love disintegration then you will love this live album of tracks from it. A must have in any ones Cure collection!!
