Really good for the price. So far.
I love these speakers. I have only had them for about a month, they are replacing creative gigaworks T3 2.1 speakers which I began to experience technical difficulties with after about 4-5 years. I have had these for a few months but I really like them. The bass is not as powerful as the gigaworks t3 but it is still really good. I used to keep the Gigaworks subwoofer bass dialed turned down to about 1/4 point because the bass was just so overpowering. I keep the bass on these speakers at the halfway point. The mid range and highs are better than what my old gigaworks satellite speakers could produce. I also feel that this system has much more sheer volume. I listen to a lot of music and play some video games. For under 150 dollars you would be hard pressed to find speakers that sound as good as these. The control box is awesome. You can control volume bass right from your desktop. you can also attach head sets, Phones or I phones and mics directly into the control box, and the system can receive signals from two separate sources. One in the front and one on the back. It also has a usb port for charging devices. I am not sure why this product is only rated at a 3.5, but so far so good.ConsThe satellite speakers are large for computer speakers. I must warn you that the blue circles that you see on the speakers are not that prominent when seen in person. In fact you will not be able to see the blue at all unless your lighting is very bright or you are flashing light directly on them.

Great value and good sound for the office
These speakers are excellent for desktop speakers (I've owned Logitech - cheap and "Tin-ey" and Bose - expensive and delicate, did not sound that great for the money spent). I use them for work-time music, video conferences, and of course gaming. They sound great. At first I was a bit upset that the speaker surrounds didn't glow blue like they appear to in the manufacturer's picture (see my picture), but I quickly got over that as it may have been a distraction.Hooked up to my 27" Retina Mac (Pictured) these speakers sound great - for the price. The control box is a really nice touch for this price range. And for us Mac users, having a headphone port on the front is such a plus to be able to switch from speaker to headphones and back without having to fumble around reaching behind the screen. The sound is really good for gaming as the subwoofer is a legit subwoofer (again, not as good as my $4,000 rack system in my man-cave, but these are office speakers, not reference audio). The size of the speakers on the desktop are definitely big by current standards - I find this a plus as normal small computer speakers often sound "tin-ey". So depending on your desk size that might be an issue, it wasn't for me (the picture is on a 6' wide banker's desk). All in all, I recommend these to anyone who needs office or gaming speakers. Though there were more expensive options, save your money for a legit home theater or reference audio system for music; for office and gaming use these are perfect and don't break the bank.

Excellent Sound - Easy Setup - Oh... and excellent sound.
Wow... setup a new Docking station and a new sound system the same evening. Not sure which was easier. It took 5 minutes to set this system up. The wires are color coded,.matching the connections on the back of the speakers. You really have to be "distracted" to screw this up.Once I turned them on, I kicked on a little Iron Maiden and Joe Satriani and turned it up. Wow. The sound is crisp, including the bass. We all expect bass to have punch, but it can get muddy. The subwoofers on this set are excellent, and sound crisp and accurate. One feature I didn't look at when I was browsing but discovered when I set the unit up, was the ability to hook up a smartphone or tablet, in addition to my PC, and use an A/B switch to select which I want to listen to. Slick.

Melts from Overheating.. But good looking!
This would've been a great beginner's system or for college or something or just a nice-looking, concealable system for a small room, but there is a BIG FLAW in the amp itself: it has no fan, and thus gets so hot, it melts the power switch in the front, which gets stuck in the OFF position and literally toasts a timing chip.. though, it still works with the power switch's contacts hardwired to be on.. regardless, it gets burning hot, EVEN WHEN the Treble/Bass/Volume knobs are at 0, and nothing is playing, and with the plastic case off. I realize this is not uncommon for certain amps, but this thing just gets too hot, and should be shipped with a small fan in the heatsink.I've linked a pic of the amp's melted power switch.Bottom Line: Great system, but only if you are apt to install a [5v] fan in its amp, because really, this thing will melt, even under no load.

Loud bass + great sound = amazing speakers
Great sound and bass. I have the sub behind my monitors on my desk and it shakes my whole desk not even at full volume. The controller is also a great feature. Easy volume and sounds adjustment, plus easy access for headphone jack and the charging port is convenient too.1/12/18. I have had this for almost a year now and use it on a daily basis and still love it. No issues at all. I know that others have referenced heat issue but, I leave mine powered on 24/7 and have had no issues. I am considering getting one for my home office soon.
