When sewing costumes you have to do your research, and have to make decisions on whether or not it's better for you to make something or to buy it. This was one of those times. I needed one of these for my Renaissance costume, and originally I was going to make a historically accurate one, then I realized how much time and effort I would be putting into something that no one would ever see. I took to the internet first looking to buy a historically accurate one. Realizing they were well out of my price range I discovered these caged ones and how affordable they are. The decision was clear, and I'm so happy I went with this. It's really well-made, and you are able to make the hoops larger or smaller which is great because different time periods require different sized hoops on hoop skirts. Until I bite the bullet and take the time to make my own (and I might never do that) this one will work perfectly. The picture is of my completed Renaissance dress with the hoop skirt underneath holding it out. I adjusted my hoops to be slightly smaller in diameter to match with the time period.

I wanted to do something creative for our Halloween costume party in 2018 and this cage frame worked perfect! I only wish I hadn't stepped on my LED light box and tore the cable, it really would have been something if it lit up as designed. The cage was weighed down by the decorative stones I had put on it, so I wove a belt through the top waist band and it stayed on perfectly.

Casing on one of the hoops was already ripped (about 3 inches) when I took it out of the box, and the steel boning was dislocated from the connector. It was a quick fix, but I'm wary about the quality now. The elastic waistband is also very snug -I have a 34 inch waist and there is NO WAY it would fit someone with a 39 inch waist as stated. I plan on making an adjustment so it works for me.All in all, it's a decent product for the price, but may require some unexpected alterations.

I was struggling to find a hoop skirt that gave me the shape I was looking for for my wedding dress. I wanted more of a bell shape than an A-line and this is perfect. It’s also super easy to sit in. The only reason I give it 4 stars, rather than 5 is because I had to have the waist taken in quite a bit. I’m not sure exactly how big my waist is but I’m 5’4” and 120 lbs with a typical sized waist to give you an idea. In order for the hoop skirt to stay up around my waist and not fall down around my hips, I had to have a seamstress take it in a lot. The waist band has lots of stretch so it would definitely work for someone whose waist is larger, as well. The pictures I included are from when my dress was still in the process of being altered but it gives you an idea of the volume it gave around my waist which is exactly what I was looking for.

Made for a cute costume, fair price and decent structural durability. Very voluminous and long, but you could easily just pin up one of the tiers if needed. It’s pretty simple and customizable! Quick set up and easy to put away! Just got to twist it into a figure eight (think infinity sign) and anyone can fold it right up!The material used in holding the pieces together was not very strong and after a little while, there were some rips and tears in the cage. It’s not super noticeable though and easily mendable.Good price and exactly what you pay for!

Aweeeesomeeeee.Made an amazing Mardi Gras costume this year and fastened 40 masks to this skirt. Was incredible. I will buy another one for my next costume!!

Fits perfect. I wear a size 10-12 typically and was nervous it was going to be really tight but it fits perfect! Tried it on under another ballgown and I don’t understand why all ballgowns don’t have these? Seriously I was able to walk perfectly and still with my shoes off. Tried out going to the bathroom and omg so easy. Sitting is comfortable but you won’t be able to sit too close to someone else as it pops out on either side. Got this for my wedding dress and can’t wait to not have crazy sweaty legs! Again, if your dress is at all poofy DO IT! Just for the fact that it keeps the fabric off your legs!!

Worked well for my climbing roses Halloween costume.
