Candles in the Rain

My mom is the original hippie when it comes to music, and more or less raised me on this album. A few years ago she lost her copy of the CD in a move, so I went on a hunt, and here we are!The sound quality on this disc is like pure crystal. You can tell when someone did a digital remaster well and when they did a digital remaster poorly, and this remaster is AMAZING. We put it on in the car, and without turning the volume up loudly at all it was like Melanie was in the car with us. There are no "bumps" or tape hiss in the sound, and little subtleties in the music that were probably audible on the vinyl but weren't on the original "Buddah Collection" remaster just came popping right out.If you no longer have a turntable, or you just want a more portable form of this album . . . pick this up. The remaster is amazing, and it was a delight to hear these songs as Melanie originally intended them to be heard.

Replacement Album. "Candles In The Rain" was my First Melanie Album, and I was hooked

I love the album "Candles in the Rain". However, when I purchased this item, "Candles in the Rain/Leftover Wine", I thought I was getting a two album set - one album named "Candles in the Rain" and the other album named "Leftover Wine". The price (thirty-some dollars plus shipping), and the photos, along with the item description, suggested a two album set. However, the item that I received was the album "Candles in the Rain" with an additional song, "Leftover Wine"

This CD is as powerfully moving as the original album in the 70s!

I definitely would recommend this item. It was in great condition, and would make a great gift for anybody interested in records

Spoilt in my opinion by the exclusion of "Close to It All" and the addition of "Alexander Beetle" (Why did they do this?) but still a great album. Would have given it 5 Stars if it was the same as the original vinyl.

Listening to the CD now and wow what an improvement Talking Elephant have done. Well done guys. Sounds soooo much better than the older versions. This was always my favourite Melanie album and features some of her best work EVER. Ruby Tuesday, What have they done to my song Ma?, Carolina on my mind . If you're gonna have a Melanie album in your collection then this is the one you have tyo have.

Ahh melanie...I fell in love with her and her music when I was a schoolboy..listening to it now I still do...brings back very happy memories of my youth..wonderful innocent music and a beautiful voice

Melanie's best. I remember the superb original vinyl so these are very clean sounding recordings. Extra tracks do not enhance it
