Halcyon T. Premium 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, and 3mm Wire Coil Winder/Jig

A nice coil kit. This is a good buy if you're having trouble making your coils neat and even, a coiler like this can really make it easy and fast. This kit's sizing rods go from fairly large (3mm inside diameter) down to a microscopic 1.0mm ID, so if you like micro coils, this is one of the best kits. Most of my coiling jigs only go down to 2.0 or 1.5mm ID. Other kits do go to larger sizes, 4mm ID or more, but I feel those are generally a bit excessive. I recommend keeping the box to keep everything organized and tidy, there's also a bit of extra space (filled with bubble wrap during shipping) that makes a good place to keep a little spare wire and some cotton. I have big hands and prefer larger jigs, but this one was usable even with my bear paws, and being smaller makes it easily packable for travel. I would like to see bi-directional wire feed holes in the handle in a future revision, so you can coil left or right handed turns, but that's not a common need, and I wouldn't think of taking a star for it.See the attached photo for a 26 gauge Kanthal coil I just made. Took about thirty seconds beginning to end, and that coil is so micro that bacteria could vape on it. This one's not very practical, it's hard to wick a 1mm ID coil, and 21 turns of 26ga Kanthal at that size is about a 1.4 Ohm, but isn't it cool to have the ability? I could not make that coil by hand, look how even the turns are! It's easy to space the coil out while still on the rod if you want, too, and it'll keep the ID consistent if you just pull on the wire a little.Disclaimer: I received this at no charge in exchange for an honest review. I had an issue with receiving an empty box and received a refund, then was offered a replacement as well if I'd review it. I'm always up for that, and I'd tell you if it was junk, I'm pretty plain spoken.

I was looking for the original coil jig (the one that looks like a little block) when I came across this one. I bought the original jig for my husband last year and have enjoyed using it, but it's NOTHING like this! This is a fantastic product. All you do is fix everything together, add wire, and it rolls out a perfect clean coil every time! I've tried this with my smaller 26 gauge wire as well as my larger 24 gauge wire and it works perfectly with either.You just choose which size post you'd like to use (and they're labelled unlike other brands I've seen these made through), unscrew the lid from the base, pop in the pole and screw down, slip your wire through the hole, and then attach the piece the pole matches to - twist slowly until you've got however many wraps you want, and then slide everything off. BOOM - perfect coil!I figured it out easily even without reading the included instructions, and I'm a little slower with all things vape related. If I can do it, trust me - anyone can. I got a new dual coil RDA for Christmas, so this thing is a life saver! I feel like after checking this product out, my husband is going to want to upgrade from his old coil jig for sure. Best vapor product on the market right now for those who build their own coils, hands down.

The way it works is actually nice, very simple and very clean finished coil. However, when I received it the 3mm was coated in a thin layer of rust. Cleaned off easily enough, but it shouldn't have to be done. Another issue is the screw works well for a single wire, but if you're doing twisted wire or anything larger then a single strand things get very difficult.The screw screws into the plastic shoulder, and the screw was heavily rusted when I recieved it, leaving dust and nastiness on the plastic shoulder where my wire runs.And the final, huge issue I have with this is the quality of the machining. Again, my 3mm rod was lightly rusted. However, this portion is about the plastic it goes into. There is a clean, about 1/8in deep clean cut gouge, so at some point a tool was dragged across it, damaging the product.Bottom line, it's ok for starting, but don't expect high quality. Their QC is not there for anything other then an ok product.

terrible, wires wrap around themselves because of the cheap design and non hex screw that allows the coil to wind onto itself. DOES NOT WORK!

Does decent job making coils for rebuildable atomizers; however, I think the product could be improved. The screw heads that actually wind the wire are rounded so I've had the wire not catch a few times. I think if the screw head were fatter and more squared than rounded it might capture the wire a little better, as there would be more surface area to catch the wire. Has even a rougher time with twisted wire.The Coil Master coil set appears to have fatter head screws. I'm brand new to rebuilding. Not sure if the fatter screw heads truly make a difference. Anyhow, my four star rating is given because it is a good tool overall for making single strand coils. Despite the shortcomings, your coils will be built better with this than hand wrapping coils around a screwdriver by hand. Product loses a star because implementation could have been slightly better.
