I just wanted something cheap to use until I got my 4xt back (and I kinda felt like buying something new for fun) I didn’t have high expectations but I was extremely impressed with this red dot. The reticle is as crisp and clear as the ones on my 4xt and AimPoint t2. It really outperforms its price point. One of the main reasons I chose this one in particular is because of the rotary wheel brightness adjustment and lack of a solar panel. The clicks on the wheel are sharp and feel great Now, this obviously isn’t a T2. But it’s pretty dang good for what it is. So what started out as a cheap red dot to throw on a rifle while my nice one was being replaced ended up getting a permanent home on one of my other rifles. I was considering a Holosun 515 but thought that was too similar to my 4xt. Then I was considering a Romeo 5 but I wasn’t a huge fan of the way that looked. I’m just really happy I chose this one. Review: I hate red dots. - The title explains my opinion of red dots, but this thing is awesome. Very crisp dot that goes June 6, 1944 bright if you want it to. Very nice and tactile~but easy to turn rheostat dial, and out in the daylight it doesn't blur due to my astigmatism like most red dots as long as I don't turn it up excessively bright. The mount that comes with it is trash, spend 15 bucks and get the utg mount for it, that mount is solid and has built in recoil lugs. It also looks nice. The blackish-grayish black finish isn't the most durable, but it's not bad and it wears nicely. Mine has some minor wear and I beat it around all over the place. Best red dot for the money imo and has been absolutely awesome. I still have some mbus sights for backup because I don't trust electronics, but this thing has been great. ## Features - HOLOSUN GOLD DOT SIGHT - The HE403R-GD is a 20mm micro sight designed for rifle and carbine applications; This rifle sight features a Rotary switch to select reticle intensity, Holosun's Gold Super LED with 50k hour battery life, and a 2MOA dot with 12 reticle intensity settings; HE403R-GD is a versatile sight for users of all levels - HIGH PERFORMANCE - The housing of this gold dot sight is made from durable cast aluminum and includes both a lower 1/3 co-witness mount (1.63") and a low mount (.75") for low-comb height rifle applications; Additional features include rubber lens covers, and a battery compartment integrated into the Rotary switch for the 2032 battery - MULTILAYER REFLECTIVE GLASS - Holosun optical sight is made using optical-quality glass lenses with multilayer coatings applied to facilitate maximum light transmission and wear resistance while reducing glare and facilitating reduced power requirements; Holosun's highly reflective coatings produce industry-leading reticle intensity, clarity, and battery efficiency - SUPER LED - This rifle sight is equipped with Holosun Super LED technology that includes Red, Green, and our latest Gold Dot LEDs providing options that match various environments and personal preferences including red/green color blindness with our Gold Dot; Super LED technology provides a versatile range of reticle intensity settings; Holosun Super LEDs have ultra-efficient power usage creating battery like as high as 50,000 hours - SPECIFICATION - Reticle: 2 MOA Gold Dot; Light Wavelength: 590nm; Magnification: 1x; Parallax Free & Unlimited Eye Relief; Multi-Coating: Yes; Power Source: Battery; Battery Type: CR2032; Battery Life: up to 100000 (Setting 6); Brightness Setting: 10 DL & 2 NV; Window Size: 20mm Diameter; Housing Material: Durable Aluminum; Surface Finish: MAO; Adjustment per Click: 0.5 MOA; W&E Travel Range: ±50 MOA ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07TH9LS2M | | Aiming Scope Sight Pin Size | 20 millimeters | | Best Sellers Rank | #367,379 in Sports & Outdoors ( See Top 100 in Sports & Outdoors ) #835 in Gun Sights | | Brand | HOLOSUN | | Brand Name | HOLOSUN | | Color | Gold 2 MOA Dot (HE403R-GD) | | Compatible Devices | Cross Bow, Handgun, Rifle, Shotgun | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 581 Reviews | | Included Components | HE403R-GD | | Item Display Weight | 14.4 ounces | | Item Type Name | Gold Circle Dot/Rotary Switch | | Item Weight | 3.52 ounces | | Lens Color | Gold | | Magnification Maximum | 1 x | | Magnification Minimum | 4 x | | Manufacturer | Holosun Technologies, Inc | | Manufacturer Part Number | HE403R-GD | | Material | Durable Aluminum | | Material Type | Durable Aluminum | | Model Name | HE403R-GD | | Model Number | HE403R-GD | | Mounting Type | Picatinny Mount | | Objective Lens Diameter | 20 millimeters | | Product Style | Modern Sporting | | Reticle Type | Dot | | Sport | Archery | | Sport Type | Archery | | Style | Modern Sporting | | Thread Type | Picatinny/Weaver | | UPC | 605930625387 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | SEE MANUFACTURER | ## Product Details - **Brand:** HOLOSUN - **Color:** Gold 2 MOA Dot (HE403R-GD) - **Compatible Devices:** Cross Bow, Handgun, Rifle, Shotgun - **Item Weight:** 3.52 ounces - **Magnification Maximum:** 1 x - **Magnification Minimum:** 4 x - **Material:** Durable Aluminum - **Objective Lens Diameter:** 20 Millimeters - **Sport:** Archery - **Style:** Modern Sporting ## Images ![HE403R-GD / HS403R - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51sEmQHZn-S.jpg) ![HE403R-GD / HS403R - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51rCw8d9aMS.jpg) ![HE403R-GD / HS403R - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31PcaJFahVS.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Honestly as good as some expensive dots *by D***E on October 4, 2023* I bought this because my Romeo 4x Pro had to go to Sig for RMA work and none of my other red dots worked well on that particular rifle. Holosun in my opinion has some of the best bang for your buck optics on the market. Dust water and shockproof, hold zero, and have been very durable in my experience. Work well with or without magnification, and match up with most mounts and magnifiers. Not a $70 no name red dot that you will replace in a few range sessions ## Frequently Bought Together - HOLOSUN HS403R / HE403R-GD 2 MOA Dot Micro Sight for Rifle - Durable Aluminum Parallax Free Rotary Switch Super Led Sight with Multilayer Reflective Glass & 12 Brightness Settings - Red/Gold Options - Streamlight 88066 ProTac Rail Mount HL-X 1000-Lumen Multi-Fuel Weapon Light with Remote Switch, Tail Switch, Clips, and CR123A Batteries, Box, Black - HOLOSUN HM3X 3X Flip-to-Side Magnifier w/QD Mount HM3X --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.be/products/149057052-he403r-gd-hs403r](https://www.desertcart.be/products/149057052-he403r-gd-hs403r) --- *Product available on Desertcart Belgium* *Store origin: BE* *Last updated: 2026-10-16*
