Wonderful on Android Tablet
Having used a printed copy for several years, I was thrilled to find this for my tablet for use on the go. While not as easy as some apps for going to direct verses, you are able to go to books or do boolian style word searches. All the study notes are immediately available as well by one touch and return to where you were again also by one touch. I greatly recommend this pre-KJV bible with original study notes that forced royalty to retranslate into the KJV without notes due to King James not appreciating the notes that directly contradicted many of his actions. The more you study it the more you too will appreciate the frankness of the translators notes especially in these most critical times we are facing today.

Excellent - Shakespeare would be happy!!
I'm really surprised at the quality of this Bible for its price and I plan on buying this for family and giving it to them on Thanksgiving.we read it a lot they really improved the fonts and spelling so unlike a cheap copy of the Geneva Bible this is very comfortable to read.

Great Version of the 1599 Geneva Bible
I would recommend its purchase for anyone looking for a Bible with a King James "sound" but slightly differing in text. It is a little easier to read in my opinion than the KJV but the KJV is a little more formal in it's approach though. The notes are enlightening as well. They give an understanding in certain areas that have been forgotten or just a little different than todays scholarship. Wether that is a good or bad thing should be left up to the reader and his/her prayer life. That being said, the notes do lend themselves to Puritanical ideas and mindset and are very close to early Protestant thinking, which I really enjoy reading, by the way.I have been using this Bible in my 90 day reading plan and really enjoy it. The only negative things I would say about it, is an issue with formatting.First, the table of contents is partly functional due to it's formatting. By that I mean that every book of the Bible is essentially divided as a "chapter" in the Bible. Thereby rendering real "chapter" navigation nearly impossible. To navigate within any given book of the Bible you have to use the Kindle's "Page Scan" feature to do it. For example, if the reader wants to open to the 110th Psalm the page scan feature has to be used to get there. Endlessly tapping and tapping and tapping... This isn't a deal breaker, but it makes this E-Reader version harder to use as a devotional and must simply be read through from cover to cover.Secondly, the only other negative feature of this Kindle version is how it handles the end notes. If I am not mistaken Kindle has a new way of handling these types of notes via a pop up style window, similar to the dictionary function of the Kindle. Instead, the publisher has chosen an older way of bringing the reader to view these notes. When the reader touches a link for and end note they are sent to end of the book/chapter they are reading. Once they read the note, one must open the Kindle's main menu and then touch the back arrow in order to return to the original place where they tapped the linked note.In my opinion, this form of navigation is somewhat convoluted and tedious; considering there is better way of handling this type of formatting on the Kindle. All in all, this is a very good Bible despite it's shortcomings. I am very thankful that this 1599 version has been reprinted in a more modern light since it is a very important part of our American heritage. I would record this version to any and all Bible readers wether student or scholar.

Excellent Bible
The only complaint is being a Kindle book there isn't a fast way to move between chapter, verse or books.

1599 Geneva Bible
The history associated with this translation is fascinating. Occasionally, the language is a bit beyond me, but then, I don't speak 16th century English. With every translation I read, I learn something new. This translation is no different. I read, I learn, my faith is reinforced.

My favorite and go to translation
This is the Bible that the pilgrims brought to America. It is the first Bible to number chapters and verses, it is the first Bible translated into English entirely from the original Greek and Hebrew. Other Bibles used the vulgate Bible (latin Catholic Bible) and are full of errors and deceptions. It also has notes from the Reformers. My favorite and go to translation.

Easy to read and research from
I bought this version in order to make connections/comparisons with the KJV. Through the readings and teachings I see the differences easily with the explanations at the bottom. It also comes with a CD for easier indexing and the ability to increase the font size for 'tired' eyes!

easy to read, helpful study notes
This kindle version is easy to read, with the study notes all placed at the end of the chapter, but reachable by a number within the text. Cross references for other relevant bible verses are marked with a letter.I appreciate that about this particular kindle Bible. As another reviewer mentioned, the kindle treats entire books of this bible as chapters, making the actual bible chapters really difficult to navigate. It is better to read this Bible continuously from start to finish, using the back button in the menu after reading the notes. The study notes are really very good to read! I'm so pleased I bought this particular Bible. I've learned how people of that time read and understood passages that I have trouble with today. The text reads a lot like the King James, but that isn't difficult at all. It's actually easier to understand because the ye/you thee/thou distinguishes plurals from singular so you know when a group of people are being addressed or just one. I don't know much about the history of the English language, but I know enough to appreciate the value of the older bible versions. (I've read a children's book called, "King Alfred's English", which I recommend highly as a quick, entertaining read.)

The Geneva Bible 1599 Edition .
This edition is a faithful copy of the original and includes the all the well-known notes . As the wording has been brought up to date , one may think something has , perhaps , been lost in translation ? But personally , I find it very acceptable when compared with my copy of the 1560 edition . So I would recommend this volume to anyone who loves the Geneva Bible .
