Does exactly what it says. You will tan, not burn! ββββ
Let me start by saying we are water people who live in FL. We are on our boat 2-3 days a week in the FL sun. We've tried many different sunscreens and this one did not disappoint. I got this because it is reef safe and we had a trip to the FL Keys planned. We spent 7 days in the blazing sun snorkeling, and not one of us burned. The product is pasty, not greasy. A little goes a long long way. After 5 people using it for 7 days, we still have 2/3 of a bottle left. It is high in zinc content, so you have to apply a little at a time and work it around. If you rub it in well, it does leave a white film on the skin. Once it dries, it doesn't seem to transfer to clothing. If you don't like the look of the white film, it isn't for you. We didn't care and were fairly generous - especially on our backs since we were snorkeling. If you are concerned about the way it looks, then this isn't for you.

Skin Friendly, Eco Friendly and Overall great buy!
I purchased this product to use on our vacation to Cancun, knowing that we were going to Xe-Ha - which is a natural waterpark that requires biodegrable, eco-friendly products to be used while in the water to protect the marine life.1. This bottle was more than sufficient for 8 people (6 adults and 2 kids) - total body application alteast twice. We have a third of the bottle still left.2. The product is very thick and should be applied in small batches vs. attempting to glob it all on one area at once. Expect to spend 50% more time applying this product than you would with a 'regular' lotion based sunscreen.3. Apply BEFORE you start sweating and/or are wet. It is much easier to apply and is much more effective at protecting the skin when applied to dry skin. Re-apply after being in the water for 60-80 minutes!4. You will have a whitish glow - this is a mineral based sunscreen and it does leave a film on your body and you end up have a pearlesque look to the skin. It's not terrible - it just may show up a bit in photo's.5. The scent is pleasant and once on the skin, it gradually fades.6. This is good for the environment and is not going to be what you are used to if you've never used an eco-friendly sunscreen - bottom line - it works! We all used this sunscreen and none of us got burned and we were in 100% direct sun for 8 hours on a bright and beautiful day! The price of this sunscreen is reasonable considering the cost of similar products at resorts and/or the waterparks. The cost there for eco-friendly products was between $35-40 and the bottles were smaller. This is a great buy if you are looking to use something safe for the family and/or need it for an excursion! Be sun safe my friends!!

ATVing through the mud and jumping in the cool pool water from a waterfall--the sunscreen remained intact
Just got back from my vacation to Kauai...still in denial. I used this product religiously to not only protect myself from the sun but to also do anything I can to reduce my damage to the precious ocean waters and wildlife. Even after snuba-ing (not a typo) and swimming in the gorgeous waters of Kauai, ATVing through the mud and jumping in the cool pool water from a waterfall--the sunscreen remained intact. I have lupus so protecting myself from the UV rays of the sun is super important to prevent flares. In addition, one of the medications I take increases my chances of skin cancer so I felt very safe in the "hands" of using this product skin-wise and environmentally. It's also a product approved by EWG (Environmental Working Group). Glad Amazon features products approved by this organization! Thanks Tropical Sands!!

It's an Okay product. Definitely, not my favorite sunscreen though
The reason why I gave it three stars is because it does not blend well and is not easy to smear/rub into the skin.We bought this product for our vacation to Florida : Universal Studios, Disney, and most importantly the two water parks : Disney's Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. We planned to use this sunscreen at the two water parks and just wear a covered shirt for the theme parks since it was August and our skin was already "somewhat" used to the sun. On the day of the water park, we opened the container and everything seemed quite wonderful until my daughter began to put it on. My daughter is kind of pale - she has a light beige skin tone that doesn't get any darker over the summer. She burns frequently rather than tans. As she was putting it on, the sunscreen would not rub into the skin nor spread out evenly. I faintly remember reading something about this product that it does not absorb into the skin because of a lack of a certain chemical. I wish I paid more attention to that because they were right. It's very difficult to transfer over onto the skin - especially the face (because you can't rub insanely hard or else you will get wrinkles over the years). We were running late to the water park by the time we got it on all parts of the body where her swimsuit does not cover. She came out looking like a white ghost or a very white vampire - which ever analogy you prefer. It definitely did make her feel very self conscious at the water park because of the stark contrast. It is waterproof so it stayed on for about two hours as she was going down the slides. It also stains the bathing suit with white marks which are not easy to remove. It's quite greasy as well so be careful when you sit in the car. Make sure to put a towel underneath yourself.Overall, the sunscreen did its job - my daughter did not burn. She was however very self conscious about her appearance due to the white streaks/stains on her body and bathing suit. She did not enjoy that very much. I would not recommend this product when you will be surrounded by many people who will notice your exceptionally white appearance. I would recommend it if you are going scuba diving or swimming in an ecologically sensitive location. As for the water parks, where there are no flora or fauna to protect, I would not recommend it.Also, the coconut scent isn't the normal coconut scent ; we did not like it.What I did love is that it's all natural, Biodegradable and Reef Safe - we bought it for those very reasons. My daughter is all about conservation/preservation and being a smart consumer so she wanted the sunscreen when she saw these descriptions :CERTIFIED ECO-FRIENDLY and Coral Safe! Safely use this while swimming in natural water areas - Zinc mineral sunscreen with no nanoparticles-- I don't think it really matters at a water park. She will however definitely use it when she goes scuba diving.100% ALL NATURAL Formula - Hypoallergenic, No Harsh Chemicals, No Nanoparticles--Main reason why we got it.BIODEGRADABLE - Certified biodegradable and safe for use in nature parks. Formulated with GREEN TEA, a powerful antioxidantGREAT FOR SNORKELING - Water resistant (40 minutes), NO chemical fragrances, NO chemical preservatives (parabens) or emulsifiers. REEF FRIENDLY!-- I noticed that is was water resistant for a longer period of time than 40 min.
