We now have our 3rd door from this company. The first 2 broke! One of them we had for a while, the other broke after a few months. The one we have now just broke tonight. I also noticed that it had a piece of the metal bar missing and had a super sharp edge, which cut my dogs nose causing it to bleed! The door was difficult to open and it would get stuck and would take 5-10 min just to try to pry my dog out of his crate, even before tonight when it broke. I thought getting it from Petmate would be good as they are a reputable company with good reviews. NOPE! I will gladly spend more money to order from someone else. Esp being that we have had to waste money buying 3 of them when the first one should have been just fine- and the company wasn't willing to help either replace the door for free or refund us. When it works, it's great. Just don't count on it working long and expect possible sharp metal edges. SO UPSET

I've had my massive dog kennel for years. The water bowl I used to have attached to the door was constantly flipped out of its holder by my boxer. Apparently it rusted the mechanisms in the door, because one day when I came home and turned the latches, the entire system collapsed. I ordered this replacement. The first one I received was bent during transit, so the company immediately sent me a second one. This door is the perfect fit. I have an older version of the giant kennel that I purchased about five years ago from PetSmart. This saved me from having to buy an entirely new kennel. At the time of purchase, every other company was out of this exact replacement door. So this one really helped me!

I have 2 Alaskan Mals and they each have a giant kennel of their own. The first time I purchased a kennel door I bought the Vari brand replacement (more expensive). My problem is the girls scratch at the kennel doors and the chrome starts to flake off, then I need a new door because it starts to rust. These hold up just as well as the Vari brand in my opinion. I do keep an extra one on hand because I had a door one time that the knob froze up not sure why or which brand it was but it is better to be safe than sorry.I will never buy a full wire kennel again, one of the girls tested herself against it and the wire kennel lost. She broke 6 different welds on the frame of that wire kennel, destroyed the carpet trying to claw her way out of it and then tried to claw through the sheet rock...that was not a good day. I'm ok with buying a new door every year or two...so long as I don't have to replace the carpet and all...lol...

The kennel door was in perfect order. However it was the wrong size for myExtra Large Vari Petmate Crate. What would have helped on the viewing site is the measurements of the door also advise buyers that if they own an older model crate this door will not work for them and your company no longer carries the door for the older models. Delivery was awesome and the return policy was great. I am sorry it didn't fit.

This door is for a jumbo kennel. The door and lock mechanism is for larger dogs or escape artists. I have replaced these doors several times, but the kennel remains the same. I replace the door because of the dog's slobber, rusting the inside cover and area around the lock mechanism. The two half single "locking" rods can be bent by the dog, but is long enough to still maintain it's "locked" position. Even though the metal is chrome, the locking mechanism and area around the lock can develop rust from the dog chewing or mouthing the metal. Still, this is the fourth door I've ordered over the years and I plan to continue to order these replacement doors.

Checked the measurement, ordered it, didn’t even come close to fitting. Then I had to pay a ton in shipping to return it.

Our old door was broken by the dog and it's a pretty old kennel. The replacement door was very easy to install and works great. It's exactly what we needed. The dimensions on the website were very important as there are many different sizes. Our kennel does not say "giant" as the description states on the website which is where the dimensions came in handy. The price was very good too. The product itself is ok. It's a little lighter and cheaper feeling than the original door we had, but it does the job. Our kennels house our german shepherds, and get a lot of wear and tear from them, so for now at least it's holding up. My problem and the main reason this rating is low, is because when I ordered the door everything seemed to go just fine. I was promised it would be sent within a day or two (ordered on a weekend night) and that I'd have it a few days later. Since I absolutely needed this door to confine a mischievous young working dog , I didn't have a lot of time to waste. About 4-5 days later, I get an email saying that amazon had not heard from the vender and there was no verification that it went through, so I wasn't charged. I tried to contact the company, but they were closed at the time. A few days after that, I get an email notifying me that it was in fact sent out, and now I'm charged and it'll be another few days. When I finally got it here, it was wrapped up like a child did it with some extra supplies laying around the house. Just a ripped up old thin cardboard box flattened and a few bits of tape on the middle of each end. Literally looked like this thing went into a warzone and lots of dust and who knows what was all inside with the door. The door jammed for the first few days, but eventually with some oil and working it in it's now working mediocre. I'm just happy to have a door back on this kennel, but if I could go back in time I would have just ordered straight from PetMate for just a few more dollars... nothing that would have hurt the wallet, and I'm sure it would have been an easier process.
