Questions questions...
I calibrated this with distilled water and the meter left in the same room to come to the same temperature.It is not picking up the salinity values for my brackish aquarium despite samples being left in the same room as the meter for up to an hour.I made a blatant brine solution to test and that was detected easily.Is this refractometer just not as accurate to slight levels like I was led to believe or did I get a lemon?--update--Continuing to work with this and my aquarium, I finally got a result. So, it does seem to work... barely.The design though is very difficult to read. Not only do I need to be in a very bright room and have this pointed almost directly at the light source to be able to read it "clearly", but the scale is also so smashed together that minute details are hella difficult to read. And when my astigmatism flares, it's even worse. No, I can't use this with my glasses on and I don't have contacts available in my Rx.I will continue to work with this. Looking for other products that measure just salinity, it seems that the only things available are manual refractometers like this. The digital meters do TDS which I don't believe is what I need.

For salt system pools or spas too!
Actually the instrument works great but the way I use it makes it a little hard to read because I'm reading 3,000 ppm with a salt hot tub and it converts to 3 on the scale. Salt test strips for pool/spa cost about $1.50 each so the instrument is a much cheaper way to test the water. I zeroed the instrument and after compared the salt strip to it and both gave the same reading!

My first time using this product. Works great. I wear glasses but I can read the numbers perfectly without them. Much more accurate than the old plastic type I used in the past.

Mar 2021 purchased now only opening the meter it's not showing the reading
I need to check my spirulina tank purchased in mar 2021 never used today tested not showing reading at all full blue showing, trying to calibrate with distilled water no reaction when adjusting the screwsI need refund or replacement urgent
