I got this stud finder to install a Nest hello doorbell. The main reason i got this is because it has the ability to search for AC wires as I wanted to makesure I'm not drilling through any wires thats in the wall. This stud finder worked wonders and i was able to find all the areas where the AC wires were and was able to successfully drill the holes. The stud find mode is very accurate and i compared with another old one i had and it was accurate every time. This is great stud finder for the price and does the job very well. Won't hesitate to recommend it.

Has a learning curve in how to work but once I figured that out it does the job. Just difficult to get started. Don't give up though it is worth learning because then it works well.

This stud finder works really well! The accuracy and ease of use easily makes this the only stud finder I'll use. Best stud finder hands down. Highly recommended!

Bought this to replace my old Zircon. Arrived and immediately tested it to get familiar with it. Went to dinner for about an hour. Got back home to mount the new TV to the wall. It then proceeded to fail and not work after countless calibrations. The metal scanner works fine, inaccurate but fine. I even scanned over an area in the wall where I knew exactly where a stud was and the scanner failed to detect it. Will be returning and going back to the tried and true Zircon.

Overall this stud finder does work and has all but once been accurate in my home projects. The big issue is that it's confusing to use. The instruction manual doesn't help much and so you're stuck figuring it out on your own. I still dont know all the features of this thing, fortunately i can get it to find studs though the various wall depth settings are still a mystery to me.

I love this stud finder compared to older units I have. The calibration step is easy and the visual LED screen makes finding the center of the stud effortless. Was able to use it immediately on a small home project. It takes a 9 volt battery for those wondering.I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a new tool.

I have used this stud finder for a few projects now and it seems to get worse with each use. Aside from the instructions lacking, a few passes over the wall will reveal studs that change location and studs with two right edges but no left edges to be found. The wire reading is useless, which I hear is the case with many stud finders, but it's still worth noting. I decided to mainly use it to find metal plates in the wall after a while, but then it began to fail at that, as well. For my most recent project, the finder consistently read that there were no metal plates in locations that clearly had them once I attempted drilling. It also began to randomly read a spot with no metal plates as having them. (Yes, I have been recalibrating.) Overall I'm pretty disappointed and have various holes to fill in now.

I previously owned the 4 in 1 (VIVSF-01) and the item performed the way it advertised, but from time to time I need to scan the wall over and over just to make sure. Also, on the previous model, you'd need to hold the button while scanning which make scanning a little tricky and difficult sometimes. The new model (TD100) is awesome, because you just press the button once while it's calibrating, then you are on your way to finding the stud(s) without having to hold the button anymore. The built in leveler helps you move across the wall level and prevents you from turning the level while scanning. I'd recommend this new scanner to anyone that's looking to buy.
