Samsung Tab S6 vs Huawei Mediapad M5 Pro
Intended as an upgrade, I purchased the Samsung Tab S6 8GB RAM/256GB expandable storage LTE and keyboard bundle option. To my surprise, as good as the Tab S6 is, I compared and ultimately preferred the screen on my old and very reliable Huawei Mediapad M5 Pro LTE, with its common 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage. Both tablets have optional keyboards and desktop 'Windows-like' modes and sport great screens, coupled with astonishingly good quad speakers; treble, mids, bass, and high volume! The Tab S6 enhances its sound with impressive Dolby Atmos effects. Both have stylus pen support, although the S6's does more. The highly expensive Samsung was best for endless (gimmicky?) features, but the much cheaper Huawei, which still gets android updates (now 9/Pie) despite Trump's daft efforts to cripple sales, wasn't far behind. Like beauty good tech is in the eye of the beholder, but however I might look at it, the Tab S6 is not worth £400 more than the M5. No way! I'll reconsider when the Tab S7 hits in 2020, hopefully with a bigger screen or some other non-gimmicky attribute to justify the expected high asking price. For now, the good but unconvincing Tab S6 is going back to Amazon.

Great tablet OVERALL but not for serious digital note-taking.
Pre-ordered the tablet as a replacement for my Gen6 Ipad w/Apple Pencil Gen1My whole digital life is on the Android eco-system. So i always wanted a tablet that was as good as the iPad. I was very excited about the Tab S6 because it finally seemed like it gave the Ipad Pro a run for the money. Overall yes - but the pen capabilities need still need work. For example i use Onenote to take freehand notes. On the iPad the experience is super smooth, there's no jitters or lag. On the S6 there's a considerable amount of lag when using the pen with Onenote. I did try it with Evernote and I had the same issue. There's no lag when you use the Samsung note-taking apps - but they lack in the organisational power of Onenote or even Evernote. This was a deal breaker for me.Other comments:DEX Mode: That was very very very useful - you can do more than just light work and the experience is windows like. Unfortunately it wasn't a big enough reason for me to keep using it.Keyboard: The keyboard has got a very nice feel to it but unfortunately it wobbles around alot. There's virtually no magnet keeping the other end of the keyboard semi-attached to the body of the tablet - so the result is like a loose limb of a keyboard attached to your tablet.Returning to get an iPad pro 11 instead. Hopefully it will help me reach digital note-taking nirvana.

Faulty Displays
The attached image should show one colour across the display, instead you get this weird banding, it's not acceptable for a premium product, seems to be a common issue. The OLED display is the main selling point, if that's not working to an acceptable standard then why bother? Horrible quality control from Samsung.I may change this if the replacement is fine but as it stands stay away from this device.EDIT: Even though I clearly requested a replacement Amazon gave me a refund... Good job Amazon.

Keyboard/Cover Useless
I was very impressed with my daughter's Galaxy S4 Tab in particular the keyboard and cover arrangement, much better than Apple in my opinion. I wanted a traveling substitute for my laptop but the S4 was not powerful enough so when I saw the S6 Tab was to be launched, with an even more tactile keyboard and improved operating system, I immediately ordered the S6 and cover/keyboard combination on Amazon for delivery by 31st August. Amazon advised a delay in supply and sent me a £30 gift voucher by way of apology. I received the case on 6th September but had to wait until 11th October for the tab. There were no instructions with the case, the keyboard immediately attached itself magnetically and I assumed the back cover would fit the same as with the S4. It didn’t, although somewhat magnetic it kept slipping off. Then I found a plastic sheet over a soft pad on the inside of the cover which, when removed, left a sticky pad that clearly needed to be stuck to the S6 case, not ideal as it would be nice to have the option to remove it if required. I stuck the cover onto the pad and left it overnight to set weighed down by a heavy book. That didn’t work so I asked Amazon for a replacement which they could not supply but have offered me a full refund. I called Samsung Customer Care, they were not aware of the fault! (strange as I see many other users are complaining about the issue) they had no stock of the keyboard/cover sets and no idea when they would be available. So I am left with a dilemma, the S6 is no good to me without a fully functioning keyboard and a means of supporting the Tab, do I stick the cover onto the Tab permanently or just send the whole thing back and buy an Apple? I don’t want the much cheaper option of a wireless keyboard/cover even though they probably work well. I have been a loyal Samsung customer for many years it’s a shame that such a good Tab’s functionality has been compromised by a simple case, it all works fine on the S4.

IPad beater?
I would like to give it more than 5 stars. This is an absolutely fantastic tablet and would highly recommend it. I have two other tablets a 32GB tab2 and a64GB kindle fire 10.1 I have all the apps on these devices loaded on my s6 and more, and still have over 106 GB free memory I also have a256 GB sd card. This is a very stable tablet and faster than both my other tablets. Keep up the good work Samsung you have an iPad beater.
