bear bell less $$ than polar bell- same results
If u want a bell for any reason, this would be the least expensive way to go. I stumbled on this deal, and with free shipping how could I go wrong? Well it came at lightning speed and fit the bill, as anticipated. No surprises. Even has a magnet attached to silence it when needed. Great value...

Bear bells do not work!
It has been scientifically proved that bells do not work for bears. So selling "bear bells" today is not honest. It is abusive like a sort of scam... Buy a bear spray instead.

I hear my dogs now!
This bell makes a good bit of noise, which is important to me when I hike my dogs. Since putting this on their collars I've only had one run-in with a critter - a groundhog.

It works but the pictures are misleading
The picture shows 5 bells with different color and when I checkout there is no place to chose to select the color. I assume it is a 5 -bell set.And turned out to be only one. I sent a message to vendor but didn't get any answer back.The bell rings though.

Good value
Bell is great - loud, but can be silenced by magnet. Got these for my 8 grandkids for an upcoming trip: hiking in Montana. My only disappointment was that they were all black!! Would have been cuter in the colors shown, but at least there was no fighting over who got what color.

good bear bells
they will drive you a little crazy but they will keep on rattling all thru the trail but the cool little magnets shuts them up perfectly. Good for security too around camp!!

Poor poor quality Velcro and strap
The black bell is loud and perfect for my handlebars on my mountain bike. It's great for letting hikers know I'm coming up behind them. BUT, when I got the bell in the mail and opened it up I noticed right away that the strap that attaches the magnet was too long, frayed like it could rip, thin and flimsy. The main strap is nice, but the Velcro is HORRIBLE. Barely sticks to itself. And, to top it all off, the stitching totally sucks. They missed part of the Velcro. Ugh. I re-sewed everything that needed it and I had to tape around the Velcro in fear that I would lose the bell on my next ride.I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. There are a couple of other brands out there that might be better made than this. I really wanted black and went with this. Oh well.

Convenient to use
I don't know if this bell has scared off a bear, but I know there are bears all around me -- and there is one bear around my lake that is curious enough about people to walk up to them. So I've been wearing this when outside gardening, and if I go for a walk in the area. My daughter and I have encounter a bear twice in the last few days, both times when we were silent and not making noise.The price is right, and I like the design of the bell.
