Catholic Homeschooling (or not homeschooling) Essential
This series is an essential for the Catholic homeschooling family, and even for the non-homeschooling family. If you are looking to learn about history from a non-revisionist point of view, to learn about historical events and peoples in the context of the times in which they lived, to have morality intertwined with history, this is what you are looking for. I would absolutely recommend this series for families that send their children to school to off-set anti-Catholic/Christian teaching. As for this particular book, I've found it to be just as stellar as the rest. I've found learning about the Reformation from a Catholic perspective to be especially useful. The author is fair in his assessment, pointing out the "wicked" acts committed by members of the church while at the same time explaining how the actions of the "heroes" of the Reformation (Martin Luther, etc.), while perhaps well-intentioned, were still wrong and against Christ's one true Church. I also found the discussion of Christopher Columbus to be especially informative in understanding him within the framework of his time. And it is so wonderful to have the saints included in history! But the books are not just the author's moral assessment of history...this is a small part of them but hugely beneficial to a young reader. The books are primarily historical fact, of course, interwoven with stories narrated to bring history to life. My elementary school aged kids love listening to the books, though I'd say the books are more at a middle school level. As an adult, I've found this volume to be as fascinating as the first three and have learned so much from this series.

Kids will love learning history!
I wish I had this book when I was a kid! It really brings history to life for the whole family. I searched hard for the right history curriculum for our homeschool and we've finally found it. My kids especially love the audio drama version of this, but the textbook is great to have as a reference as well. Check out the other books in the same series.

Education and entertainment for the whole family
I love that there is an audio history book from the Catholic Christian perspective. My kids love listening to these - the 6-year-old to the 15-year-olds. Thank you!
