Great but annoying. Does the job.
It’s great for a classroom visual of time remaining, and the functionality definitely deserves 5 stars, howeverrrrr...it beeps for a full 60 seconds when the alarm sounds. Unless you are right next to it to turn it off quickly, it’s almost as annoying as a fire drill alarm. Maybe it’s because it’s new to our routine, but the class, myself included, jump a bit when it sounds. (NOT for sensory/SPED kiddos - it’s just too harsh.)

Timer
I like the timer overall. I wish it were louder. Only 2 volume sound settings. Sound is more digital beeping than a ringing sound which I was not expecting. Not a problem though.

Excellent for mornings
I set this in the morning because my kid moves slow as molasses. When it goes off, it means we really need to put on our coats and get the hell out the door. It's been the best thing at getting us to move on time. The alarm goes off for about 25 seconds, and there's no way you can stop it once it starts going off, but that doesn't bother us. Drives the dog crazy, but whatever. We'll be on time for catching the bus.

Size if perfect, Numbers easy to read, and Cost inexpensive, works awesome!
This timer is awesome! It is large enough with someone who has impaired vision to see all the numbers, as well as the timer hand. It is perfect to use when you are multitasking doing laundry and anything else. Each time the timer goes off, it is time to change the load out. Another great use is for a young child. When they have to have a time out, or do homework we simply set the timer for the amount of time. Instead of asking, they can look at the timer to see how much time they have left. A great tool to use around the house, as well as gift to a teacher. It has features a teacher would love. For instance the timer can be set and the alarm muted, so they are aware it went off, but the students not bothered. The size is a medium size melon, and it has a hook to hand, a magnet to mount or a stand to place on a desk or table. Very inexpensive and works quite well. Every mom, or teacher could benefit from one of these.

High visibility at a great distance
We bought this timer to time our swimming sessions, and we now use it for anything that needs timing. Why? You can SEE exactly where you are in the cycle from a very long distance. I almost dropped a star over the high frequency alarm. If you’re over 50, or attended too many concerts, you won’t hear it easily from a distance outside. Inside, you’ll hear it unless it’s a very noisy environment. The medium setting is for quieter use. The way to turn off the alarm is odd — either flip the (off-medium-loud) switch in the back — awkward — or rotate the big dial slightly. That said, the fact you can glance across a big room and see where you are at a glance is great. For a home gym, it’s fantastic. For cooking, I’ll stick to a digital timer for shorter, more precision-type dishes, but use this for baking.

A big, nice and good looking timer! Especially helpful for teaching!
With homeschooling, we need more visual items, and this timer has been a huge help teaching the concept of time to our children! It has also, subsequently taught my daughter how to count by 5's and she's in kindergarten! This is a really nice timer, looks good, and even comes with batteries!

No way to stop the noise once it goes off!
I've been using this to time my study sessions using the Pomodoro technique, or sometimes breaking tasks down into smaller increments. However, there is NO way to turn the alarm off once it starts. You either have to turn the volume completely off from the back and wait 30 seconds to turn it back on, or wait ~30 seconds for the alarm to stop. It doesn't sound like much, but when you're trying to move on with your day, wasting half a minute waiting to turn off an alarm that's meant to keep you on track is annoying.Other than that, it's great. Just wish there was a way to turn the noise off once it starts.

Perfect for a magnetic dry erase board.
I bought the clock because I needed a visual timer for my students when I wasn't using my overhead prjector. Also, for substitutes so that they could have a timer. I love it! The timer sticks firmly to the dry erase board. There is no way that it could be bumped off accidently or fall off if the dry erase board was hit with our classroom ball. The sound is adjustable. I have it on the loudest setting. The students can easily see it from anywhere in the room. It was very useful! One month after I got it, one of my students turned the know way too hard all of the way past the 60 minute line and it became unusable. But, I told the company about what had happened and they sent me a new one at no charge. They responded quickly and it was sent right away. The only thing I would recomend, is that you place the timer high up so no very curious, and agressively playful, students are able to get there hands on it and turn the knob too hard.
