Very well made. Big handle fits big hands! Great edge, and hasn't rusted. Ofcourse he washes and dries it immediately after use. He's used it from processing venison to carving turkey!

I’ve had a number of Bubba knives and I ended up going with this stiff flex this time and I will say I do enjoy it more for filleting salmon, especially larger king salmon than with the flimsy fillet knife. The blade is very resistant to corrosion, but it’s always a good idea to wash your knives with fresh water after because even this blade on my other knives gets some corrosion from saltwater.

I spent an entire day on the internet looking for a fishing knife I could take out on the jetties at Port Aransas, TX that had some kind of secure scabbard so I wouldn't drop it and lose it, especially in the dark. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find something like this. I didn't want leather or anything with wood on it because of the saltwater elements. Finally, this was the only decent one I found and when I opened it up I realized it was more than I had hoped for! The large grip is awesome, a good sized and nicely texturized rubber grip which is super if you have fish slime on your hands. The belt loop will accommodate a 2.25" belt, just so you know. It came out of the box pretty sharp but will of course fine tune it before the trip. A fold up knife like this is just what the "doctor ordered." I couldn't be more pleased. I'll probably buy some as gifts next Christmas.

Excellent knife worked great right out of the box sharp and flexible worked great for a 24 pound salmon.

This is the BLADE he wanted. When I received it, I thought we ordered a Japanese Katana sword. I really got a little anxious when I pulled it out of the box. It looked to me like a sword or at the minimum, a machete but after having a good laugh (via text in the middle of the night) with my buddy, this is the "knife" he wanted to fillet "big fish". I'm dying to catch a fish BIG enough to skin and fillet with this thing. Other than that, the knife is really amazing. Feels great in the hand, the handle is perfect and it's non-slip and the blade is very sharp. Very balanced. Comes with a nice sheath. Can't wait until we put this thing to work as it looks as if it's going to do a great job! Great knife!

I bought this for filleting salmon so I won't get to use it till next fall.I have a different brand 7" that was just short so I hope the 9" will do and if not I'll have to get a 12".Anyone I know who has a Bubba knife seems to love them.

What an amazing blade! It's huge, like a small machete! The handle is AMAZING! Extreme GRIP, as it was first used to carve a Prime Rib, some juices got on the handle, NO problem at all! Extremely sharp, and even comes with a protective sheath. I definitely recommend this blade for kitchen use, OR outdoor use, as originally intended. I don't go as fishing as often as I used to, so, I purchased it more for carving large pieces of meat at home. I love this knife light weight and razor sharp I’m glad my wife gifted it to me. I used it to cut pork ribs yesterday which can make you lose your grip but you don’t with this knife very easily to handle and very very very sharp be careful.😳 its a filet knife if coarse but I have not had a chance to use it for that yet I have no time to go fishing.
