I am considering it for a chair, but not if it stains clothes when I sit in it.** A: I have not had any problems with it rubbing off on anything. After I applied it I wiped with a damp cloth after it was almost dry. Then I did it again when it was totally dry. So far so good. **Q: Do I really need to use a deglazer for touching up my shoes** A: the " sheen " or Haze after drying is a common result for this and oil dyes. it buffs out easily and is the last step in dying leather. It has nothing to do with deglazing. Deglazer removes the factory Leather treatment applied to most commercial tanned leather when new. This protective layer will keep the dye from soaking into the leather uniformly and causes a splotchy result. If the leather is new, I recommend using a deglazer or cleaner/deglazer in order to get even coverage of dye. **Q: Is this aniline dye? Can it be used for wood too?** A: I don't know what an aniline dye is, but I use it as a stain on gourds so believe you could use it on wood also. **Q: Many people complain about getting the right color, is there a true color chart? Weird that few pix have the stained leather next to the bottle** A: I ordered brown for my husband shoes. It was medium brown to dark. This was the only company I could buy brown from. Kiwi only sells black. To get light brown you could dilute for a lighter color. Or just wipe off after applying.
