The Balmer Swiss Made Stratos Mens Watch is a decent, acceptable watch. I like that it has a large face and is easy to read. My expectations for a watch like this was much higher than what this watch delivers, however. It works well; however, it does have a somewhat lower-tier look to it for what it is. I saw something that looks similar at Walmart recently, but I’m assuming the brand name has something to do with it. I honestly would not have purchased this for myself for that reason. However, as a review item, I’m happy with it. It is large, feels comfortable, and has a classic look to it.Pros:Has a large face; easy to read. Comfortable, good weight.Cons:Large, bold numbers and cheap-looking hands make it not seem the highest quality.

I like the watch, help me with the time

I put this watch on as soon as it arrived. The leather band is top quality leather and very stiff. The face is easy to read, big, but doesn't dwarf my wrist. The setting unscrews and I set the time and date with the help of the inculded directions - a photo copied single page. Weird. The weirdness continued when I found a Bonheur west card in the box because that is a completley different watch making company.The next weird thing was when I noticed that the watch wasn't working. I guess it has a dead battery or so I hope. I'll take this to a jewelry store when I have some spare time and get a new battery. If you're buying this as a gift for someone, make sure it works before you give it to them.Great looking watch, truly stunning, just wish it would have worked out of the box.

I just received this watch the other day and when I took it out of the box it was dead/not working. The watch itself is nice and not too heavy which is important for long use sessions.The band is "genuine leather" which means that its a hybrid leather rather than real leather.The leather feels good on the wrist but I cannot tell you much about how breathable it is (although it looks breathable) as I am not going to wear a dead watch.I will go take this watch to have a new battery put in it when I have time and I will update the review after that if things change.I think that the idea of receiving a dead watch is a huge issue as watches typically are set to "off" when they are in storage.Also this speaks about the battery life of this watch as typically watches don't sit on the shelf more than a year (and even that is a long time, I believe the tags mentioned mfg sometime in the last 6 months) and no watch battery should be dead in even 6 months. Typically watches last for years on a single battery (I have one going for almost 5 years now too).In the past when I have encountered a watch that dies quickly it usually always does so and kills the battery every few months; basically making it useless considering the time/cost involved in replacing a watch battery.So purchase with caution that you may receive one that is dead too; other than that it looks like a nice watch and has a nice build quality to it.If this review helped you at all; please mark it helpful! Bringing me pure nostalgia, this Balmer Swiss Made Stratos Men's Watch looks very much like a Swiss watch my grandfather had half a century ago. This one is very well built, big and heavy, making a traditional massive and masculine fashion statement. It's a welcome addition to my collection of watches to go along with my clothes of the day.A star is deducted because it came with an unappealing user manual--a piece of letter-size photocopy paper with black toner strips faint print (those you usually see from a bad copier). The box is also generic. The presentation could be better to match the quality of the watch.For the quality of the watch itself, I recommend it!
