Great Customer Service!
Great product at a great value! There was a small hiccup with my shipment and the seller went above and beyond to fix the issue. The entire purchase process was fantastic and I will definitely be a repeat customer in the future!!

Easy, Simple, Healthy.
It was our first time making water kiefer. The instructions were simple and it's very interesting to watch the grains grow. We are very happy with how this turned out!

didn't ferment
the packaging is nice (was a gift). Didnt find the instructions confusing as other mentioned, but the brew never fermented. I will add I am a professional natural yeast winemaker for a decade, and we ferment all kinds of things at home from Kombucha to hot sauces, so I wouldn't call us amateurs. Ultimately it was a waste of money, a shame, as we had never heard of water keffir and were curious

Great customer service!
You have to reach out if things are not as expected. The package with grains just contained cloudy liquid but I reached out to the seller and was quickly shipped a replacement. The kits contents are perfect for a beginner who isnβt sure about a big investment.

This was pointless. Less than a teaspoon of grains -and it usually dies within the second batch
When i opened the bag of starter, it was basically all water, and had just a tiny bit of grains. Despite that, I still followed all the seller instructions and went forward making the first batch. By the next batch, all the grains had disappeared. Was a waste of money. If they had given a reasonable amount of grains, the outcome might have been different

A bit of a learning curve...
I hate to give the kit three stars, but I must. The instructions are very confusing. The instructions ON the box were different than the ones IN the box which is very odd. I tried to follow both, but neither seemed to work really well at all. It was only until I did a bit more research from other sources to understand exactly how to make the kefir since this was my first attempt. In the jar with the grains (after proper re-hydration), add warm water just up to the shoulder, add 1/4 cup of sugar, slightly mixed. Add a banana, a bit of lemon and some fruit of choice (I use frozen fruit, mostly berries, although pineapple and peaches are really good as well). Seal the jar and let it sit for a day or two. Mine hisses and bubbles when it is ready. I strain out all the fruit into the compost, and pour the mixture in the soda bottle, straining out the kefir grains and set aside for the next batch. I keep the bottle on the counter for about 6-12 hours, releasing pressure occasionally then put it directly in the fridge...this builds up A LOT of pressure if it sits in a warm room for too long. If I have forgotten about it, I have learned to open it over the sink, but it sprays everywhere regardless.Ok, so moving on to the kit again. The kefir grains that come with the kit eventually do work very well following the paragraph above, although I did purchase other grains afterwards to add to the ones I got with this kit, as the original grains did not seem to multiply at all. Everything else in the kit is great, the strainer, funnel and bottle. I did purchase a 4 pack of extra soda bottles to continue batches longer rather than putting the grains in stasis too often.

Good but overpriced
I gave 4 stars because it eases the process for new kefir brewers but it's overpriced. The instructions are also a bit confusing so do your research before even starting with the kit. If you're in a major city it's better to just take note of the contents in this package and go buy them yourself - save yourself about $30.. but if you're in a smaller town you may not easily be able to find the organic cane sugar or organic candied ginger and grains, in this case, definitely buy this.I love that it had everything I needed. I just bought coconut water to make the kefir with instead of using regular water and it came out great. Remember to hydrate (acclimate) the grain in sugar water for 3 days before attempting your first batch! π

Great Kit!!!
Everything you need to start making your own Water Kefir! By the third batch I mastered it! A bit of trial and error at first because our house is quite cool in the fall and winter months so I am using a seedling mat (heat mat) which has made all the difference. Now that I am on my 12th batch, I'm getting brilliant fizz already during my first ferment! I highly recommend this kit AND supporting this Canadian company.

Disappointed!
Very dissapointed in this kit, for the difference in cost between just the grains and the kit, do yourself a favour and make a trip to the dollar store, some of the product pictures shows a plactic fermentation vessel and you get a cheap flip top bottle with lose metal rings, a cheap wooden spoon, a .49 cent plastic strainer. Not much sugar at all, and the instructional video from happy gut says to add 20 peices of ginger and they send about 16 peices, so save your money and buy all the equipment and sugar and candy else where.

Not sure what went wrong
My kit had dry grains in it, I followed the instructions to start making water kefir but they never worked. I tried for a couple weeks and just ended up with sugar water that smelled like sweaty socks. I tried a "reset" in water in the fridge as suggested on a kefir group but that didn't do anything so I have given up.
