Kilogram Tea - Organic Masala Chai Tea Concentrate

This tastes a bit different from the chai mix I used to get from Intelligentsia. Don't know if it changed, or if it's just been so long. In other thoughts, this tastes best with milk with some fat in it. We only buy fat free milk, and that is not the right milk for this product. It needs some fat in order to best bring out the flavors of the spices. Otherwise, it's just too strong. I had some cream on hand, and found that substituting up to 1 part cream fixed the issue.Note that the ratio is 1 part chai base to 3 parts milk, so 1 carton gets you 16 1-cup servings, vs the 8 1-cup servings in a more common 1:1 ratio carton. It is, unfortunately, 3.5 times the cost of the other brands per carton. It's still significantly cheaper than going to a coffee shop, approximately half the sugar, and has a more interesting flavor.The carton arrived in a padded paper envelope. It is a tribute to the carton manufacturer that it did not break, as it was so beaten up that it doesn't stand up well on its own anymore. It should have been shipped in a box.

I will tell you that unlike the picture as noted the product comes saying a serving is 3 ozs. and not 2 ozs. making it less servings per carton. But - stick with the quarter cup to 3/4 cup milk formula and you'll get less calories and less sugar - the taste is still good and still sweet. I'm a fan of chai and I am against formulas that don't have the complex spices and are way too sugary. While this is a little high in sugar for me I'm giving it a thumbs up because it has the spice and complexity in flavor to go with it. My favorite is Bhakti original but Kilogram comes in a strong second.

This is the best chai concentrate I’ve ever tried hands down (and I’ve tried them all). I first saw this used at a coffee shop I used to visit often in New York. I loved it so much more than the dozens of other chai concentrates that I ordered it directly from their website. I LOVE that this is now on Amazon with prime shipping. I hope it stays on here forever.

I love this tea. The best Spivey chai I have ever tried. The packaging however is garbage and every time I order it it is either leaking or the top falls off. A real bummer because the product is outstanding

good taste but about double what it should cost. I can make usually 3 days worth of lattes with a box of this, cheaper than they would be at starbucks but more than i would expect. found a different brand that i like which is also lower sugar and can be purchased in a 12 pack, boxes end up being about 8.00 each.

This is my favorite chai tea concentrate. It’s so delicious! I’ve missed going to the coffee shop every day to get my chai latte. This makes me feel like I’m there. It’s perfect!

Hands down the best chai ever and I’ve tried quite a few. You get about 8 or more servings per container. 😱 For me that’s a $48+ savings and less time spent online at the cafe. It’s worth it.

I had this at a coffee shop and loved it so looked for it online. It has a nice flavor and because it’s a concentrate you can make it however strong you like.
